Shrimp sounds so good right now. Actually, everything sounds good right now. I get the same discomfort in my chest if I don't chew my food well. Sometimes it comes back up and sometimes it goes down slowly. I hate that feeling either way. So, I'm just trying to chew well to avoid that feeling in my chest.
Isn't it funny how we can eat a bite of something or one of this and be satisfied? That amazes me. I love my new tool.
I look forward to chatting with you in the near future.
Hi, Diva in Training,
I just discovered this Nov 05 Message Board. My surgery was on 11/14/05 and I'm down about 44 lbs. I made myself promise I wouldn't weigh except once a week. Otherwise I would obsess over every pound.
I too have had trouble adjusting to how much I can eat at a time but I think I'm getting there. My biggest problem is water. Any amount of plain water makes my pouch HURT It doesn't seem to matter what temp it is either. I can drink decaf hot tea, so that's how I'm trying to get my fluids in. I still can't tolerate any vitamins or calcium either. Hopefully it will be better soon. I don't want to develop any deficiency.
Good to talk to you. Keep up the good work.
Happy New Year (and new life)

Hi Kimberly,
You are doing great. I had the same problem with water about a week after surgery, but it was temporary. I can now drink water without my stomach cramping up. I do love tea with splenda, I just never thought to drink a lot of it to get in all of my liquids. duh lol As for vitamins, I take Foltrin, which is one pill 2x/day that combines B12, Vitamin C and Iron. I haven't had any problems so far. I also take Centrim Chewables (multi-vitamin) and Viactiv (Calcium). The Viactiv tastes like caramel. It may seem like a lot, but it's not. And I feel so much better when I get everything in.
Well keep u the good work and we'll talk soon.
Happy New Year
