I am going to be a month post op next week and according to my scales only lost 17lbs. What am i doing wrong to be loosing this slow. I am highly frustrated that i have not done any better. Any ideas on getting the scales moving again. Also my period is due next week is that part of the problem. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Sandy,
You really are doing just fine. I had my surgery on 11/03 and as of last week at the dr's i had lost 20 pounds. I too was concerned and the dr told me i was doing actually well. I also went on a stall in my third-fourth week, i lost nothing, but now i weighed myself at the gym and i am again losing. Keep your chin up and keep losin.

Sandra,
Sounds to me like you're doing great. I am at a 21 lb loss and we had surgery on the same day. Yet my stats are different from yours. I went in at 311 and am now at 290. I weighed more so mine came off faster. Thats the biggest difference your starting weights. At this point our bodies are still in starvation mode so I don't think there's much you can do except try to shake it up by eating alot more one day then doing mostly shakes the next to keep your body guessing.
Also, try to stay away from that scale..I had to put mine away. I weighed, naked, clothed, in the morning, in the evening, and especially after a hot steamy shower when you lose excess water weight! LOL..I became a maniac!
