Three Weeks Tomorrow- I have only lost 15lbs!!
I threw my scale away prior to WLS, so I have no idea how much weight I have lost (-6lbs. at one week MD check-up). But, I think 15 lbs. is darn good!! I have also noticed, that no matter how fast some people lose, everyone seems to be very close to one another with their weight loss at the one year mark. Just keep doing what you are presently doing....and maybe start being a little more physical & do some exercise......, and I am sure you will do fine!! Keep us posted.

Thanks, Kam. That one year mark is a good thing to keep in mind. My doc told me that how fast you lose also depends on how much you need to lose. Someone who started at 250 or more will lose about 1-2 a week, someone who started less than 250 will lose 1/2 to 1 a week.
My philosophical mantra is: this is for the rest of my life. This is not a "diet". It's not about "losing it quick" and then getting on with my "regular" life. This is my regular life. So my initial numbers don't matter.
But...I'm still human and of course I want to get the body that will go with my lifestyle as quickly as possible!!!! It's like opening a new gift at Christmas. Want to rip that wrapper off and chuck it away as quick as possible and get down to the pretty jewel inside.
Hi Christy, We're about at the same place I've only lost 19 so far, depending on what day I get on the scale it could be 17 or 18! I am trying to leave that alone. Sounds like most of us are in the same boat. I started at 311 and am at around 292. I don't want alot of loose skin so I'm ok with the slow and steady pace, we'll look better in a year!
I was at a stand still too and someone told me that the "fat cells" hold onto water but will eventually give it up and sure enough that happened. Also, increase your protein and that will help as well. I had surgery on Nov. 16 and am down about 24 pounds. Just be sure you are eating enough, even if you don't feel hungry. The less you eat the more reluctant your body is to let go of the fat. It is trying to protect itself. Even so, 15 pounds is great.!
