Pickles and tonight is the night. I hope and pray I don't dump. God help me. I have thrown up on a half a horse pill and water. The water was too cold. Nothings worse than throwing up, although I do feel slightly better when I do.

I think I have the most strict post-op diet I have heard of. I can have chicken, fish, cottage cheese, regular cheese, eggs and yogurt. At 4 weeks, I can add a small amount of red meat and a wee bit of salad, if I still have room after my protein. At 4 months I can add a small amount of fruit.

I think I may be in the running for thr strict surgeon award LOL. I am almost 3 weeks post op for a Lap RNY and am on liquids only until next Tuesday at which time I begin 4 weeks of pureed foods. I can eat low fat/sodium cream soups but absolutely no chunks in it, SF pudding, jello, and hot chocolate in addition to my protein shakes. On the up side I am losing about a pound per day!-Heather

Wow! Those are so strick diets! Am I craveing anything? Not really... funny thou on Tuesday is our family's pizza night. We get carry out from this little pizza place. Pizza, breadsticks and a chef salad. The pizza is wonderful-to die for pizza. The first time we ordered it after surgery it wasn't the pizza I wanted it was that darn salad. Who would have thought I would totally be missing lettuce? I think I get lettuce further down the road. Kim Y 268/237/130

I was liquids the first two weeks, soft food the second two weeks and I start eating normal tomorrow! Yeah!!!! Well, I say normal, but will it ever be "normal" again??? Actually, I've read from several who are 3 and 4 years out that you actually can eat a perfectly normal diet again after about 2-2 1/2 years, normal amounts and everything. And they ALL have said that THAT is when it actually gets really hard b/c you have to decide to eat the right thing in the right amount rather than being compelled to eat small amounts of healthy stuff. So I'm embracing this phase, these next 2 years of tiny portions of all-healthy foods. Lord, help me have the discipline to stay thin once I get there!!!

I was clear liquids for the first week, full liquids for 2 weeks, 2 weeks of pureed, and tomorrow I can start soft foods. Ground meat, fish, mashed or baked potatoes, eggs, cottage cheese, other cheeses, crackers, toasted bread, cooked veggies, canned or cooked fruit w/o skin and lots of other stuff. What I miss the most is pizza. I'm having a hard time with not eating too fast also...doing good on the chewing, but need to slow down. Christine
