Update on Terri's Surgery and a protein question

Hello everyone. My surgery was last Wednesday (November 30th) and I'm doing great. I am, however, amazed at how difficult it is to get your protein, liquids, vitamins etc. consumed in one day. I've tried six different protein shake samples and have liked two of them... both chocolate (Champion Chocolate Stack and and Matrix Perfect Chocolate.) I HATED the Champion strawberry I tried as well as the Elite Berry Blast (naturally I have a big container of that) and the Nectar Tea sample I tried. That said, if you like the bottled Tea they sell in gas stations, you would probably like the Nectar Lemon Tea protein mixed in regular decaf Iced Tea. I have some DaVinci sugar free syrups and have added some of those and splenda to some of the shakes I didn't like initially but it didn't help much. If any of you have some good protein shake recipies, let me know. Oh... I also added Unjury protein powder (no taste) to my ever so fabulous chicken broth and you really can't taste it. I thought I'd order a big thing of that and add it to yogurt, applesauce, pudding etc. so I can keep my protein #'s up there. What do you think?

I had my surgery last tuesday and I'm right with you..........it is hard to get in everything you need. As for protein shakes have you tried designer whey? I bought it at GNC and Wal-mart. I have it in chocolate and vanilla. The chocolate is the best! I mix it with milk, one serving plus milk has about 37grams of protien. I add a little splenda to make it a little sweeter. Might be something to try!

Congratulations, Terri, for being on the losing side!!! I am only 15 days out, but I had initial problems fitting everything in, too. I do use the unflavored Unjury, and that helps a lot with my protein intake!! The vanilla flavor also tastes good in chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast. The other protein brands that I tried, did not sit well with me, so I am just sticking with the Unjury. I do like the Sylvester Stallone pudding, though (20 gr. of protein in a one can serving.....available at GNC). In order to get all my vitamins in without missing one, I programmed everything into my cell phone. Now it "beeps" periodically during the day, to remind me to do this or do that. Hopefully in time, I won't need the constant reminder, but for now it is really helpful. Good luck to you, and keep up the good work!! *Kam*
