Any Nov 7 post ops around?
Do you still feel soreness or pain?
What do you eat or drink?
Do you regret?
Thanks for the responses.
I'm a nov 14 post op. No more pain unless I eat or drink to fast. I'm on solid foods now. But I'm still not getting enough protein in. I just ordered the tasters pack of protein from bariatriceating.com. It contains nectar which I heard is good. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed . I definatly have had no regrets. I would recomend the surgery to everyone!!
Nearly 3 weeks out and down 30lbs!!! I'm lovin life!
I am not an 11/7 but I am an 11/8. I feel fabulous! I am only down 18 lbs (I know I can do better) so I kicked it up a notch by joining a gym tonight. No pain, one of my wounds is still open but I make to keep it nice and clean but I have been off the pain meds for 2 weeks now. I still feel sore and having a burning on my left from time to time but I know it's because I over did it for the day. No pain no gain...Or should I make no loss! No regrets what so ever!! I see it has a second chance! I am only 28 and so have many things to do before it's my time to go so I consider it my time to shine! I am not the best eater which is why I think I haven't lost as much as I had hoped but here is what I ate today:
B-1 slice wheat bread, 1 slice american cheese, 1 egg
L-1/2 chinese chicken salad -the peanuts
D-the other half of the salad
Before I was snacking alot on crackers and fat free chips so I cut out the snacking all together! I have read some of your post before and I know you are having a hard time and I am truly sorry. What are you having the hardest time with?
Keep your chin up!
Belinda
P.S. I was born and raised in Houston! I miss it!

I am still in pain. My incisions burn and hurt. My insides hurt.
I am terrified of eating because I don't want to hurt anymore, I am tired of hurting.
I have lost close to 30lbs and I don't think it's worth the pain I am going through. I hope that changes.
I have to force myself to eat a boiled egg and I can't even finish one. I don't want to try anything new for fear of upsetting my stomach.
I feel nauseated most if not all of the time. The good thing is I do take my vitamins and try to get in plenty of water.
I wish I could go back and not do this surgery. Thanks for the responses!
Mine was on the 18th, but I'm answering anyway.
I'm still sore, especially one site, but I'm sleeping better and moving more.
My fibromyalgia is flaring badly and that's kind of adding to the pain.
I don't regret this though. No matter the horrible time I had in the hospital, the pain, or the troubles with foods. What I go through now is temporary and still better than what was going on with my health before.
I'm already of many of my meds, seeing the difference in my body, and frustrated with foods. I'm still not sure what to eat and the stuff my doc suggested hurts.
STILL...no regrets. It will be worth it when I can walk and not be in a wheelchair, when I can go somewhere without toting bottles of medications and injections, when I can kiss all the nerve pain goodbye!

I was Nov. 8th. I occassionally have pain around two of my incisions. The one where the drain had been is still not as healed up as I would like. I'm dying to get into the pool and have to wait until all the scabs are gone.
My nutritionist moves us along pretty slowly. I'm on pureed foods until Dec. 7th. I've been eating refried beans (not the canned kind but some from my favorite restaurant) a side order lasts me 3 meals, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, yogurt, and pumpkin pie filling made with Lactaid milk, Splenda, and a scoop of Any Whey protein. Yum. I'm drinking one shake a day made from Lactaid milk, 1 mint flavored calcium citrate tablet, 1 scoop of Any Whey, and 1 Tbsp of Hershey's baking cocoa. I fill up four 16 oz. water bottles in the morning and make sure I drink them. I'm dying to start on soft foods next week and then two weeks later just in time for Christmas I can start trying anything I think will work.
I'm still week and often dizy or light headed but I don't regret the surgery. I'm taking the vicodin occassionally because my knee is shot which throws my back out of kilter and my RA has been acting up. My rheumatologist requires that I wait for 2 months after WLS before restarting my arthritis meds so I'm thankful for the pain meds I got after the surgery.
I sure hope you start feeling better soon. I am the biggest wimp and am so happy that my dr. was so skilled that I haven't had problems with pain.
Best wishes,
Didi
I'm a 11/7 Lap RNY. I haven't really had any pain since my 5th day out, but if I do too much around the house, I feel faint soreness. Right now I'm on pureed until Monday. I eat mostly pureed refried beans and "taco" chicken and soups. I use Designer Whey protein and just discovered that a pureed burger isn't as bad as it sounds. I don't regret what I did, except when I have to wash all of the dishes from measuring and clean out the blender and food processor! I do feel bad for my hubby sometimes though, because we haven't been out to eat in weeks. I don't trust restaurants to make mashed potatoes w/o butter and w/skim milk. Christine
Hang in there my friend! I pray it will get easier. I hear the first 6-8 weeks are the hardest for us. I have been lucky I haven't dumped. vomitted or anything like that. I have had a lot of nausea but it seems like if I can lay down and baby myself for an hour it passes. I know not a cool way to live. If you ever need to vent or just talk.. email me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that in a very short time things will get much much better!
