19 days out
I'm 19 days out and still extremely tired. My surgery went beautifully. It was the most painless surgery I've ever had in my life due to both a top-notch surgeon and anesthesiologist. I have been using the Vicodin in the evenings. My nutritionist has what seems to be a slow food progression. I was on liquids for the first 10 days. Now I'm on pureed foods until Dec. 6. I'm sure it is probably saving my stomach. The only time my pouch seemed to hurt was when I got overful on refried beans from my favorite restaurant. My big problem is total lack of energy. I did make it for 6 minutes on the stationary bike today and took a short walk down my driveway (probably 2 city blocks) on Friday with my mom and mom-in-law but other than that I've been pretty much a slug. I was very light-headed all day yesterday. I did get my water and protien in but still felt terrible. I took a half packet of Ester-C in 8 oz. of water and felt a little better. Anyway as of 10 days out I had lost 18 lbs. I don't own a scale and live at least 15 miles from the closest scale I know of, I haven't weighed since the 10 day check-up.
I am so glad to hear that so many of you are doing well so soon after the surgery. I have done probably 20 hours of work but I work from home so it was doable for me. Even though I am exhausted I'm glad I had the surgery and am anticipating that surge of energy that looks like it hits folks about 2 months out.
Best wishes to all of you.

I have had the same problem with being tired and feeling like a slug. I return to work tomorrow and am kinda worried I will not be able to make a full day. People say it is a "hibernation syndrome" because are bodies are working against us putting in so few calories and it will get better at about 6 weeks out - boy I hope so!
By the way, I am 23 days out and down 24 lbs....a pound a day!!!

Hello~ I know how you feel, All I have been doing is sleeping. I am 30 days out today and down 27lbs. I even put off returning to work by 5 days because I was scared I won't be able to make it all day. I started back to work yesterday and I am doing fine. I need to work on getting in all my protein and water. Best of luck to you........Julie Ann
