Calling all 21sters! Update please...
I had the lap band on the 21st. I am feeling pretty good these days. I can't wait until I can sleep on my stomach comfortably again...still a little too sore for that. Regarding exercise, I took a 30 minute walk tonight, but other than that, I haven't been doing much exercise. I have been pretty fatigued (probably due to the limited intake of calories and to recovering from surgery). So far I have lost 10 lbs. I am SO EXCITED to start mushies tomorrow!
So far so good. I was in the hospital for only 26 hours.
I had some gas pain for the first two days, but feel ok now. Had to sleep in a recliner for a couple of nights but am back in bed know. I'm walking about a mile a day. I'm having difficulty getting in fluids, but sf popsicles and ff/low salt chicken broth have been helping.
A mile?! Wow, you are tough!!! Yeah, I'm with you on the popsicles and chicken broth! I was discharged about the same time as you--around 11 on Tuesday right? We stayed at a motel in SF that night, then drove home (about 6 hour drive) on Wednesday. Once we got past Willits, the road wasn't too crowded. Glad to hear about what's going on with you--I was thinking of you!
Keep up the great work, and keep in touch, ok?
Sandi
Tough, me? Not really.. Walking was the only way I could get relief from the #%?" gas pain I had post surgery. Your 6 hour ride would have seemed daunting to me.
The anesthesia left me a bit foggy for several days, but I've had no big time pain.
I'll be on modified liquids until my Doctors appointment on the 9th. I am at a 12lb loss since surgery as well. I seem to be feeling a bit stronger each day.
Best in your recovery!
I am late to reply but today is Tues and I am doing pretty good. My incisions dont bother me except this darn drain. That comes out tomorrow!!!! I have been having episodes of dizziness all week at first I thought it was the pain meds so stoped those on friday and still dizzy. Thought it was low blood surgar but upped the protein 51oz yesterday and still dizzy. I want to start walking to get this weight flying off but I afraid the treadmill will not help the dizzys. Its stinking cold outside so thats not gonna happen lol. I have my 1 wk post of tomorrow maybe I will have answers. I have weighed my self twice(dh put scale so I cant reach lol) gained 6 in the hosp. and lost that plus another 8. That was 2 days ago and Im not gonna count the hosp. water weight so I guess Im at 8 lbs. DH has surg on week from today! So pray for him if you will! anyone else dizzy?
In the literature my surgeon gave me about post op guidelines it says in 3 different places that if you're dizzy you should up your water intake. I love it that you and your husband are doing this at the same time! What great support you'll be for one another.
Good luck with the dizziness and keep us posted, ok?
