Three days after lapband surgery! Just a few questions.
Hi ALL,
I had lap band surgery, November 22, 2005 and came home November 23. I feel fine except for the tigthness in my throat and it stills hurts after I drink something. Is this common or should I be alarmed? Stomach still sore and lots of pressure in my upper shoulder blade. I have another question, has anyone experinced hungry pains on the four or fifth day? My stomach gives me pretty severe pains if I don't eat about every four hours.
Thanks,
Teri
Hi Teri:
You really left the hospital quick... Congratulations
I am not a doctor, but the tigthness in your throat is most likely residual pain from the many tubes inserted in your throat during the surgery.
You need to walk and cough regularly... Actually see www.gastricbypasstips.com for valuable tips...
Also... your stomach is healing.... Taking a protein liquid will quickly give you the 50g daily Protein you need AND help the wound to heal quicker...
ObesityHelp advertizes what seems to be a great liquid protein called PROFECT 25g in 2.7 oz, 0g Sugars, 0g Carb, 0g Fat.

As for hunger, if it is not just head hunger, you need to follow the opost op dieat religiously... No drinking while you eat... wait 30 minutes before and after you eat so you do not strtch nor flush your pouch and get hungry again
The tips I referred to above are very helpful...
Good luck... hope this helps...
