TWO DAYS & COUNTING
In 48 hours I will have this surgery behind me, and I will be on my way to a new life. Trust me, Friday cannot get here fast enough!! Last night my eldest daughter came into town, so that we could have a few relaxing, "quality" days before my procedure. I am so glad to have her here with me, but what does one do when they can't eat & drink? My surgeon did not put me on a pre-surgery diet, but still, I didn't want to indulge in anything fatty or bad for me, at this date. I'm sure we can find things to do, but personally, I think SHE may need a drink, after spending the next 48 hours with me!! I am definitely getting nervous. Also, some people have unconsciously made me more so. Like my hairdresser yesterday, who wished me good luck & said I should get another good TEN years out of this surgery (I'm 54 now!!!). Yikes, I had hoped to live a little longer than 64, but whatever. One of my closest girlfriends who is not known for treating me or anyone else, treated me to lunch yesterday. I burst out crying, seeing that this was so out of character for her. I told her this WAS NOT my last supper!!!! Oh, and this morning my mother called me from out-of-state, and I had to comfort HER for half an hour, as SHE is so upset about my surgery. See? I need this surgery ASAP!!! Anyway, I am signing off, and I am going to go have fun (??) with my daughter. Good luck to all the other pre-ops out there, and I will soon see you on that loser's bench!!!!

Kam, I wish you the best of luck on your surgery!! I had mine Nov 4th and am doing well.. and so will you! Take care of yourself.. listen to your body when it says Rest!, sleep as much as you need to but remember to get up and mvce around. Even thought it hurst, you will heal faster and feel better sooner. Get in your liquids and you will do great! Keep in touch and let us know who you are doing. Blessings to you! Jacki K from PA
Hi Kam and Dee Dee,
I am just counting the hours. Fortunately, I have a relatively busy day tomorrow. I am a lawyer and had a mediation schedule at the last minute for tomorrow. It will be over by 2:00 hopefully, so I can get home and drink the nasty phospho soda. if I have enough time, I might try to squeeze in a pedicure. My surgery isn't until 12 noon on Friday, so I don't have to drink the nasty stuff until 4:00 pm. Well, best of luck to both of you and the rest of the 11/18 gang.

I was hoping to still hear from you prior to our Friday surgery!! Sorry stress is consuming your week. At least you haven't had time to think about your surgery, too much, so I suppose that's good. I do hope you get to relax a bit tomorrow. I, too, am getting a manicure and pedicure tomorrow......want those tootsies to look smashing while I am lying there au natural in the OR!! Best of luck to you, and don't forget to let us know how you make out on Friday!!
