What to eat????
I am 10 days out and am so confussed at what to eat. Dr. said I could try pureed but I'm not sure what kinds of foods to puree. I have been eating refried beans, cream chicken w/herb soup (without chicken) and very runny mashed potatoes but very little of those for fear of carbs. Cottage cheese didn't settle very well and neither did yogurt but yet milk goes down great. Any suggestions out there? I would sure appreciate it. Thanks
Cathy
Hi Cathy:
You need to focus on protein first... You can find some useful tips at www.gastricbypasstips.com that I hope you will find useful...

I would try to stay away from the potatoes, and go for the protein. Some good choices are soft scrambled eggs, canned chicken, canned turkey, tuna packed in water, soft cheeses, ricotta, soft thin slices of deli meat like turkey, etc. You can probably chew these enough down to the right consistancy without actually pureeing them. The fat free refried beans are yummy too. Good luck!
