Hi, I am curious for those of us rounding out 22 months post WLS: How much did you lose total on your best day? How much have you regained on your worse day? Where are you now? Here is my info: Started: 302 best day: 154 (148 pounds lost) worse day: 183 (29 pound REGAIN) today: 180 (26 pound regain) I am so frustrated. My capacity is so large, I feel like I eat just like I did pre-WLS capacity wise but I do make wiser eating decisions. At 180+ I am OBESE again on the BMI charts. I am thinking about the stoma tightening surgery....has anyone thought of it? Please share if you've regained, I hope I'm not alone.

Started: 253 best day: 130 (123 lbs. lost) worst day: 137 ( 7 lbs. regain) today: 132 (2 lbs. regain) Have you had a swallow test? If not, schedule one with your surgeon. That will tell you if the problem is your stoma. Good luck. Blessings, Jennifer

I haven't had a really large regain yet, but I know that there is usually a bounce back once we reach our lowest weight. I do have a five pound up & down period that I am going through. If you feel like your capacity is large, remember that you don't have to fill it. I've read to look for that "almost full" feeling rather than waiting until full. Then you train yourself to stop there even though you can physically consume more. You might also consider adding some bulky foods to your diet--beans, whole grains, etc. that require more capacity. But still be sure to eat your protein first as that is the most filling and takes the longest to digest. But still, remember that you have lost over 100 pounds even at your heaviest regain. That is a great accomplishment! Good luck, Sally

Well I think my start weight was 345. My lowest weight was 227 My worst day is 250 Thats 23 weight gain My best day I can get to 247 Thats a 20 lb weight gain. I would not be so upset if I would have gotten to 170 and gained but to have never got below 200 ****** me off. I have had my stricture fixed 2 times so far. I have started walking 1 mile in the mornings as fast as i can on the tread mill. I have protein bar for breakfast, salad for lunch protein bar for snack and if i can keep it doen chicken and protein shake for dinner. I have no idea why i am like this I just want to lose more. Anyone having this ? I know I am better thatan i started at and I am proud of what I have done. But i want to lose more and I have been waiting like 4 months without any loss.

I don't know your calorie count from this but have you looked into that? Is there a reason why you are getting so much of your protein from drinks and bars? Personally, I don't like the drinks, so I had to get my protein from food pretty early on. Chicken is one of the meats I still struggle with; I'm much better with red meat. So, the basic questions are: 1) Are you getting your 64 oz. of water in? 2) Are you getting in your protein? 3) Are you limiting your sugars and simple carbs? 4) Are you eating enough? 5) Are you eating on a regular schedule? (helps avoid the starvation mode) 6) Are you exercising regularly? 7) Are you avoiding caffine? 8) Are you attending a support group? 9) Are you taking your supplements? 10) Are you avoiding snacking/grazing? 11) Are you getting enough sleep? By starting to exercise, you should start to see some movement. It is tough, but good luck, Sally

Start Weight: 250 Best Day: 113(137 pound loss) Worst Day: 119 (6 pound gain) Today: 117 ( 4 pound weight gain and for the best) Think of all the positive things that you can do now that you couldn't do when you weighted 302. Have you smoken to a nutritionist or your surgeon about the amount that you can eat? Have you had a swallow test to make sure your staple lines are still intact? Good Luck!

I started at 265. I am just 5' tall best day: 128 worst day: 132 today: 130 We still have the tool! You can still get to your goal weight. I have vowed never to let myself get 5lbs above my goal weight. Anytime I do I immediately do the "time-out" program. I found out about it from the grad board. Basically it is two protien shakes and all the water or c-lite a day for a week. It is much easier not to eat, and just drink the shakes. This helps get your tummy back down to size, and gets the dumping feeling back. Also (trying not to be self-righteous...) EXCERCISE. This is were I really failed pre surgery. I realize that I will always have to excercise to keep my metabolism up. I really can say that I love to excercise. And if you haven't had plastics, consider that you have alot of loose skin and pockets of fat that aren't going to come off and will add up on the scale. So give yourself a break for a few of those pounds. Don't let yourself get any further away from goal, take action. You can do it!!!! Best wishes Pam

Hi all, I haven't been on for a very long time. Thought I would come in a see how all are doing now that is has almost been 2 years. Started: 257 Best day: 145 (112 pounds lost) Worse day: 151 (6 pound regain) Current and most stable weight: 147 and I bounce back and forth within 145-150 range. Frustrates the heck out of me, I wish I could get to 140 and I will be happy to stay there. I guess I had better get back on track with my eating and my portions. I too can eat quite a bit more than I did a year ago. I don't want to get to that point of no return. I have a friend that had open RNY about 9 months or so before me, and she has had about 25-30 pound regain, but she does eat a lot of crap, ( doughnuts, etc.) Hope you are able to figure out what is going on. good luck Shannon

Hi everyone, I had my barium study this past week and was told that my pouch is still the same size and actually slighly smaller than my last one in July '06. I know my two biggest issues....drinking while eating and eating too slowly....meaning, I stop when I'm full, take a 10 min break giving my pouch time to empty and then start eating again. I am going to stop these two things tomorrow. I was out of the country 2 weeks ago and lost 5 pounds but unfortunately gained them back this week. It is so hard to believe that I'm hitting my 2 year anniversary this month.
