I had lap RNY 18 months ago as of today. I am down 222 pounds, from a BMI of 66.2 to 29.3, and from a 5x to a misses 12/14. I didn't have any comorbidities and am still healthy as a horse--but just not as big as one! I was fortunate to not have any complications. I never stalled or plateaued without knowing it was becasue I ate unwisely. I still do my supplements regularly and get all my water in. Exercise is both easier to do but harder to be motivated to do. But I do go to my bi-monthly support group. I've bought a bicycle (first since high school) and am able to actually live my life without the pain and limitations of the excess weight. I've had one plastic surgery--breast reduction and arm lift--and am looking into a tummy tuck. My goal now is to maintain or lose a tad more. And to work on learning how to make food even less important to me. It has been as close to "waking up thin" as I think anything could be. This has been a great blessing. Sally 398/175.8/170

Sally, You have done great, i had my surgery on Nov. 1st and i am only 10 lb from my goal, of course i am losing right now about an ounce a week hehehe but i feel so good and if that last 10 dont come off i am so thankful for what i have lost. its been a blessing and i wouldnt trade the journey for anything. It doesnt seem like it could possibly be 18 months.. wow, time flies. Congrats on your success, Carla

con grats sally, I had my surgery on nov 15 2005, I went from a tight size 24 down to an 8/10. I like you feel if I don't lose another ounce I will be happy. Most people tell me not to lose anymore. I am only 4'11". I weigh 127-130 I'd like to be 115-120. But I keep going up and down. my own fault probably. I choose sometimes the wrong things to eat. somedays I can eat all the carbs in the world I crave them so much. and other days I can eat nothing. I too need to not make food such an issue for me. anyway this surgery has been the best thing I ever did. I love the new me and hope to keep the weight off forever. Betty
