update on me, help
So I haven't posted here in a long time & was a very infrequent poster in the beginning so I am not sure who will remember me if anyone. I had open RNY Nov 30th, 2005. I hit my dr's goal last month for a total loss of 150 lbs. I bounce down a few but usually stay right at goal. I had to have my gall bladder out in Dec. and have struggled since then to get back into things. I still do all my viatmins & focus on eating my protein, fruits & veggies and getting in my water but I stopped my protein drinks. I laid back on the gym because of recovery and am just now really getting back into it. It is amazing how much better I feel to it just took that push to get myself back into it. I definitely am noticing a snacking problem and sugar issues since I don't dump. How do you all fight the snacking urges, what do you snack on? How is everyone else doing? Are you having the same problems?

hi courtney,
yes I too am bouncing back and forth between 128 and 131. I can never get under that. I will keep trying tho. I have stopped the protein drinks too. I try to get my protein from the food I eat. Buttttt I have been snacking on things I shouldn't have too. Like carb stuff. I need some help in the area too. Maybe now that it is warmer we can drink more smoothies or home made shakes and add some protein to them again. When it was cold I just didn't want any of that. I wanted something warm.
we should probably drink our milk for a snack too. I don't get enough of that either.
hope I helped a little. I'll keep posted and see what other people say too.

for my snacking I just try to make sure it's protein in some form or the other....
at work I add EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control ready-to-drink protein drinks to my coffee instead of creamer....
at home I use soy crisps, beef jerky, peanuts (I roast them myself so there's no added salt), string cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, turkey pepperoni, imitation crab sticks, beanie weenies, lite vienna sausage... the list can be endless.... just track what you're eating and try to keep the calories within a reasonable range.... for me that's 1200-1500 calories a day.....
