Hello November, Ok as it is more than a year out for us all. I think it time we all came together and talked about our Different Doctors and the actual advice they gave us on our new lifestyle. MIne it was 80 to 100 grams of protein 64oz min of water 2 multivitamins calcium 1400 mg B12 sublingual 1000mcg a week low carbs and low fats. I think we should all exchange doctors advices and maybe we can learn from each other. Some people may use this advice to change habits they didnt know and other may just need it for a dietary change. Lets help each other. We talk abotu support lets put the advice and tools we have learned from our doctors ont he table adn compare notes. Amy

This is a great idea. It is easy to forget that we are mostly dealing with surgeons, not weight loss specialists. Some protocals seem to be more about the doctors' personal agendas than best practices. Finding common requirements and successes should help us make our own best health choices. My surgeon requires: 64 to 70 grams protein (this seems a bit low compared to others) 64 oz min. of liquid 2 multivitamins (Flintstones with iron) 3 citracal with D daily (at least 2 hours apart) B12 sublingual stool softener if needed but no laxatives The nutritionist pushes the ADA/food pyramid thing, but most people are doing some version of the South Beach or Atkins diet depending on where they are with the weight loss. Mostly lhigh protein, low carbs, and healthy fats. Sally
