ANYONELSE HAVING PLUMBING PROBLEMS

Hey everyone, 1 year toamarrow and wow look how far we have come. I am down only 98 lbs but I will keep trying I havent lost anything in the last month so I am a little scared. Anyway with the plumbing problem I went to the doctors to weight in and sawl I had gained 6 lbs wow what happened well I said am I prego cause my belly is all swelled nope they said they did a xray and here I need to get some stuff out. Now in that I mean I go every other day but not as well as I did before, before it was like 2 minutes and done now I set there and wait forever for it to get over with . So they gave me stuff to drink I did it twice and nothing then o took my sister advice for smooth move tea and the next day I went twice. Butttt!!!! I am still bloated and haveing an aweful time with water retention I am on lasix and all my blood work came back ok so is anyone else ever had this happen and is there anymore I can do. My doc says keep going with the tea till I am cleaned out. Ok no problem but why did this happen any help would be great. Hugs and kisses to all chrissy

Yep, constipation never was a problem before WLS but since WLS it's been lurking around more than I would like! I've started using 1 tsp of ground flaxseed in my yogurt or cereal or protein drink at least 2 or 3 times a week..... it's helped tremendously!

Dear Chrissy, Constipation has been my one side effect of surgery. I take 5 or 6 stool softeners every day and still don't get the same "empty" feeling I used to pre-surgery. And it is even worse during PMS weeks! From what I understand, the cause is mainly a high protein diet and low fiber/roughage. I would love an easy answer, but if this is the worst thing I have to deal with, I am happy. But I do now understand why it is such a hot topic for the elderly. Sally

I guess I am lucky I am not having those problems ..but.. what I am having problems with is gas. I don't know.. ya would think that at a year out we wouldn't be having any problems at all Hang in there sister! Kim
