Hi all I feel the same way about a new life. I would like to change careers too. I have some resimes out there just a few to start with. I have alot more confidence in myself now even tho I know it should have not changed that but it did. As far as celebrating my one year yes I will do something I just don't know what yet. I am going to make an appointment for getting my hernia fixed. That will be my next thing. also I would like to ask you all just how many calories do you have a day now? I have not really counted mine but I don't really eat that much either. So if you can answer that for me I would appreciate it. Thanks
Betty
ps congrats to all on your losses.We and wls is awesome
Kim;
My WLS anniversary is also my husband's birthday, so we'll have a double celebration going forward. This year it's on a Wednesday, so we won't do anything to crazy - it's a school night after all. However, the Saturday before, we're going to see our favorite band from college and the Saturday after, we're going to Houston for an outing with the group from the Texas Message Board.
It has been a pretty fantastic year, hasn't it?
Blessings,
Jennifer
Happy Surgiversary to all.
My date is the 2nd and that is actually the day my husband and I hit the road for MA from CA. We are military. So We decided we are going to celebrate it one the road with exploring something new on the way. I am currently still at 208lbs and still have 18lbs to my personal goal. To have a normal BMI I am 28lbs to go. I just keep positive with I still have 8 more months to before my body trys to make my weight the stable weight for life. There is a slogan at the DR's office. First 18 months it is 80 percent surgery 20 percent you, after 18 months it is 20 percent surgery and 80 percent you. So I have been examining my eating habits and modifying a bit to make sure I have good eating habits in place. I have been having body dismorfia that I will be addressing soon if my head doesnt ketch up with my my body changes. It is just so hard to see myself as a size 16. My whole life I was either a 28 or 34.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Birthday as I know I will be getting new clothes this weekend . It is cool to be able to shop at other stores that are cheaper than the specialty stores.LOL it is nice to be able to shop around now as well and not have to settle because these are the only clothes that fit.

Thanks for this post--it got me thinking about planning some kind of celebration. I think I'll go to my favorite spa and have a facial and manicure. My appointment with my surgeon is actually the day after my 1 year mark, so I will have "official documentation" so to speak of the loss.
Next weekend I'm going to a conference in Bloomington, MN so I'm going to go to the Mall of America just to try on clothes one afternoon! I still have about 45 pounds to lose to get to my goal, but I'm still loosing, so I think I'll be able to get there.
Isn't it amazing how quickly the year and the weight has gone!
Sally
I've never been and I have to admit that I'm not much of a mall person. I worked retail for 10 years and that kind of took all the interest out of me! But I'm hoping they have their Christmas decorations up. (This will be the first time I don't complain about early decorations!) I figure I'll spend my time trying on clothes to identify brands and cuts that I like so I can order them later online. There isn't much selection in Sioux City, IA so this is my reconnaissance plan. I just hope I am not too overwhelmed.
Have a great one year anniversary,
Sally
