What are your 1 year goals?
With November coming up so quickly, I am just curious as to what everyone's one year goal is and how are you doing towards achieving it?
My one year date is the 15th and my goal is to loose another 16 lbs. or about 2 pounds a week. I've been more regular with my exercise and that seems to help.
And you?
Sally
Dear Janet,
I am slowing down so I'm happy with a two pound a week loss--I couldn't imagine 5 lbs. a week at this point. If I don't keep my goals very achievable, I just set myself up for frustration. I figure I have another six months to reach goal (and then I'll see if I need another six months!).
Best of luck with whatever you lose.
Sally
hi Sally
My original goal was to be at Dr's goal, but I don't think I am making it...I've hit a stall, a gain (!) and now a stall again in the past 2 months and I'm only starting to recover. I have about 15 lbs to go to his goal so I doubt that's doable, but I want to get as close as possible. At my 6 month appointment my doctor told me that no matter what happens in November, I already hit his original goal for me by losing as much as I had and being overweight and not obese. But I REALLY want to get to the goal weight by the end of the year.
My other goal which is attainable is to be at normal BMI.
Right now to get there I am changing up my exercise and making sure I make the best food choices which isn't always easy!
Christine
Dear Christine,
I don't think I'll ever reach a normal BMI--too fat for too long--but I do want to reach merely overweight. Best of luck.
I did hear something interesting about stalls which I don't know if it is true. Do you eat on a regular schedule? This person said that if you eat on a regular schedule, your body gets used to it so it doesn't go into that starvation mode and hang on to every calorie; therefore, no stalls. I don't know how changing metabolism and simply adjusting fits into that, but I am curious. I haven't had a stall yet, and I do eat on a regular schedule. But I don't know if the two are connected.
Best of luck with your goals,
Sally
my one year goal is just like alot of you all I want to be down to my goal wich is 130. I have 8 pounds to go to get there. I was never given a goal by my docto. She says whereever I feel the best at. I have people telling my to stop now and I don't want to.
I will not be at a normal bmi even at 130. Because I am only 4'11'. I should be at 115 to be normal. But I do think I look good at 130. So I might go to 120 who knows what I will do.
Betty
Dear Betty,
I'm glad my doctor gave me a goal because I don't have a good sense of what is possible versus what the charts say. It all depends on your age, how much overweight you were, and for how long. The last time I was at the chart weight for my height, I was in the ninth grade! I can't even imagine trying to get myself there. So I was glad that wasn't where he put my goal. At 170 and 5'5", I'll still be overweight, but that's all. No more obesity labels!
Good luck reaching whatever you decide your goal will be.
Sally
