Hi Tanya! I am continuing my follow up with my GP and surgeon. Although this is my first trip to a GYN in about 3 years. Back then I had been seeing the ONLY dr who would take my insurance.... and she was awful. I decided that I was just as well off with no care as I was with her. When I finally got married and on my my hubbys policy, no decent GYNs were taking new patients because in our area there was a surge of physicians leaving when malpractice insurance premiums went through the roof. (there are very few Obs in the area anymore because the ins rates) I have a GP that I love, my surgeon is awesome, and I am hoping that the new Gyno will be everything I have heard. I really need a reliable treatment plan. I wonder how long it takes after surgery for your hormones to regulate. Thanks for the response! Janet

Hey Janet, I was struck by the comment you made "if you would lose weight your..." I have had psorisis for decades! Over the past 15 years, or so, I've had many dermatologists tell me that losing weight would make the psorisis much better, if not "cure" it. WELL... I'm here to say that almost 9 months later, and 112 pounds lighter, the psorisis is worse than it's ever been!! so to those doctors that said losing weight would help this darn skin issue. Of course, we now know that psorisis is a result of an auto-immune disorder, and I've been on methotrexate and will soon start injections of Enbrel. Good luck on your gyno issues... no fun there either. I had a full hysterectomy 3 years ago! Take care, Tammy

Dear Janet, I don't know about PCOS, but I read an article in the NY Times yesterday about some of the microbiological and inflammation viruses that can contribute to obesity. Not that I understand the science, but it did remind me that there are so many factors--and many unknown--that contribute to the struggle with weight. While I don't believe that biology is destiny, I know it can contribute to how difficult a time one has with weight issues. So bottom line--you are losing weight. That's a good thing. Be pleased with yourself and the good decisions you have made. And keep up the good efforts. Congratulations, Sally

I will have to check out that article! I am very thrilled that even thought I am a SLOW loser... I am STILL a loser. For nine months I have developed a lifestyle that has made me a healthier, more active person. It has been wonderful for both my physical as well as emotioal health. Thanks a bunch! Janet
