a funny, a WOW, and 75 lbs
This week has been an interesting one. First my daughter discovered my batwings. She examined them at length and started laughing hysterically then called me Rosita...for those of you who don't live on Sesame Street like I do, Rosita is a muppet who has wings but can't fly. Leave it up to a kid! I told my DH it is a good thing she is cute and I have a good sense of humor!
So now that I am REALLY conscious of my arms, I realize I am wearing a sleeveless dress to a "graduation" ceremony for my class (it's the only dress I have that fits right now). After some time fussing in the bathroom over how to best be "on show" for parents without my arms flapping all over, I go back to class. My group of 5 year olds who NEVER EVER get quiet, go silent one by one. Next thing I hear "WOW! Look at Mrs. D!" then they start whispering and I don't know what to think. Next thing I hear "Mrs. D, you are SO beautiful" and other similar remarks. I was floored. One little guy says that I always wear "big clothes" so today in my dress I look like a princess. I was crying before we even left the room. THAT is a heck of a WOW moment when 5 year olds say you look good. I think it's time to buy more clothes that actually fit. Plus, I got loads of compliments from parents too...I guess baggier isn't better when you're losing.
Finally, after all that hoopla, I get on the scale this morning and I've hit my next goal...75 lbs lost! I'd say I'm having a good couple of days here!
Thanks for reading, I just had to share!

Christine;
Awww! Your story is so sweet! I have goose bumps!
The only thing my nieces (ages 7 and 6) have said to me is "That's gross that you don't drink anything with dinner." I wish I had some of your students as nieces!
Congrats on getting to your next goal! You're well on your way.
Blessings,
Jennifer
