Slow down?
I actually have notice a pick up in weight loss. I only have 3 lbs to go for 100. I think I have picked up on my excersize tho to. Now that it is warmer here in wis. I can go out walking and riding my bike more. I hope it doesn't slow down. My daughter is getting married in August and I was hoping to be at goal by then. I'd like to be 130. I am at 156 now.

I had a pick up last month, but now I think I am retaining more water--a problem that is typically worse for me in the hot weather. My doctor told me to expect a slow down, but I'm hoping to keep things at a good pace. It is actually harder for me to get to the gym and exercise in summer than other times. With bad knees, I can't get that much walking in so I rely on the gym. Now that is one place I wish they did keep it cooler!
Best of luck with reaching your goal.

Hi Sally! I am in the slow zone. I am stable for a few weeks, then I drop a few pounds.. then stable again for a few more. Seems like I lose once every three weeks or so... go figure??? I haven't been exercising regularly the past month.. been busy having a yard sale, kids end of school programs and fieldtrips, doctor visits and my olderst (17) had surgery yesterday, and a one day trip to NYC... my regular routine of work out videos 2-3 times a week has fallen by the wayside for now. I plan on getting back into the routine beginning next week once all the hassle of the end of the school year is over. I have about 20 pounds that I'd like to lose yet. And I am still losing, just really slow. How is everyone else doing? Jacki K from PA
Dear Jacki,
I have to wonder if it is the time of year (things seem to get so busy in summer) or the 7 month stretch that makes us prone to exercising less. I find my motivation dropping even when it should be increasing--to not stall out now. I usually have two low weeks and two high weeks a month. But my low week was really low last week, and that's what got me worried.
I want to remain focused, so I'm not sure what is going on. I have yet to get excited about exercising--it is sheer duty at this point. Tonight's support group is supposed to be about exercising so maybe I'll hear just the right thing to get me back into the gym.
I started out quite large so still have a lot to lose yet. I'm not ready for it to slow down too much!
Good luck on your last 20!
Sally
Absolutely slow! After double digit losses through 6 months, I've only lost 7 this past month. And about 1 lb/week the past 2 weeks. I'm trying to stay positive - it still is a loss and not a zero loss plateau (YET). And they say you still lose inches while the body is rearranging itself during the slow down. I was still hoping for a few more months of 8-10 lb/month. I think now is when exercise becomes more important. I haven't been very consistent in that area and signed up for water aerobics starting next week at the Y. Hopefully that will keep me toward goal - it is close enough now to seem achievable, but still a way to go.

Sally;
I've been losing 7-9 lbs. for the last four months. At 21 days into month 7, I'm down 6, so this month looks like it's going to be a 9 lb. month.
My surgeon told me to expect 8-10 lbs./month until I get to goal. I've got 30 lbs. to goal, so I'll be happy with getting there in mid-August or so. I'd really love to be down 100 by my birthday!
Blessings,
Jennifer

I've been a slow loser since day 1 and it's definitely slowed even more. Seems about every 2 weeks I suddenly drop a few pounds then stablize again, but the inches have been steadily going the whole time. I've also been building muscle, that's keep some of the loss from showing on the scales. The heat is bad in that I can't get out in it or my Fibro kicks in big time, the up side....I can use the our pool now!!!
