Oh my gosh! Congrats! I know how you feel. I would love to have another child but I have serious reservations. One is that my husband is on deployments so umm that wouldn't happen for awhile. LOL Plus I have 2 boys that are 11 months apart and some days I can BARELY handle them, so how the heck can I handle another kid?! Then of course I think of the wieght thing. I am sure you will be fine. I have a good friend who got pregnant 8 months out. She had a beautiful baby boy who is now 6 months and she has maintained her weight loss. You will be able to have a successful pregnancy and you will not gain a lot of weight. You are comitted to your health and your child's health. Congrats!!!!! Erin

Topic: Only 3 lbs from goal and then I get pregnant!!!
AHHHH!! Seriously I am happy. But we were not trying at all. We were actually being very careful. After my last period I went to the doctor to talk about getting my tubes tied or getting the IUD. And I just had to wait till this period to get the IUD (they insert it during your period) well a little to late. I found out last night that I am pregnant. My husband about fell over. We have two beautiful girls and had wanted to stop. But I feel that any child is a huge blessing and that God knows what is best for me. But it sure is a shock. Now I am so scared about the what ifs?? How can I eat enough for my child, how does a pregnancy effect me in bad habits that I could pick up again. I know I am suppose to eat more, but that scares me. I didn't just lose all this weight to start the bad habits again. And of course there is the selfish side of me. I don't want to gain a ton of weight again. I know thats mean and I should only worry about nutrition and everything that is really important. But as you know, like the rest of you, I have worked so hard to get so close. Now I wonder if I will ever be back down here again. Like I said though I am excited, maybe we will have a boy or a girl, whichever really. I just want it to be healthy and I want to stay healthy during all of this. I also realized this morning since I thought I was done having children I have NOTHING baby left in my house. No clothes, no swing, no car seat. AHHHH Ohwell, it will be fun shopping and maybe this time I can wear the cute maternity clothes that I never could before. Thanks for letting me vent and listening. If you have any suggestions on how I should be eating, let me know. I really worry about eating right. Thanks again. Michelle 311/168/165

Topic: RE: burning in stomach
Hi Ramon!!! Well, just the past few days I have noticed a burning whenever I ate or drank anything!! It isn't really bad though. A couple mornings ago, I even woke up with a pain in my tummy, but I feel good otherwise. It's just been a couple pains here and there, and then these last few days I feel it in my stomach especially when I drink, but its farther up in my abdomen, not low. I don't have a gall bladder so I know that isn't it. I had to take my son to the dr. for a physical yesterday and while I was there, I asked him about this one part on my stomach that was kinda pooching out. Well, it isn't a hernia thank goodness, just cellulite in that area.....lol!! Ha, I was glad to hear that, but it looks kinda gross!! Anyhow, I have had the pain too!! How exactely do they diagnose an ulcer? I will be praying for you and keep us updated!! I have been a little concerned about my pain too, although it isn't too terribly bad!

Ramon: I understand a few people get ulcers after gastric bypass. They can give you medication to help heal an ulcer. However, it could be your gall bladder too. Get an appointment with your surgeon. If it's gall bladder they will remove it, if it's an ulcer they will medicate it. I just had a major hernia repair, I know it is worrisome, but you will be ok. I am ok and healing nicely. Meantime have you tried malox. Doesn't taste too good but will help if its acid in your pouch. Take care and good luck. I also had a friend who had gastric bypass in December, in May he had to have his gall bladder removed (stones). They did his surgery laproscopically and he recovered within three weeks. He is doing great now!!!

Please Help! Yesterday morning I had burning whenever I ate or drank something. At first I was ok well lets see if this will pass. Then it started burning whenever I lifted stuff at work. That worried me. My wife called the surgeon and their office said we should go to the emergency room. I went and did some tests and they said that they think that it is an ulcer. If I understand right, my surgeon told me in the begining that when you do an RNY that it reduces the acid in the stomach and mixes with the food later down in the intestines. If that is true how can I have an ulcer? My regular bypass doc said to make an appointment for an ultrasound to see if it is gall stones or my gall bladder. Has anyone experienced this before? Or does anyone know of anyone who has? I am worried. Ramon

Sharon, Thank you so much for posting. I too have been so down on my self the past week. All of the sudden I can eat sooooo much more. I too was scared I had damaged my pouch or something. I also realized that sugar alcohols make me sick but, good ole' sugar doesn't. Go figure! So, I have eatten M & M's several times this past week. It scares the hell out of me, I don't want to fall back into old habits. I'm going to try to go back to a high protein very very low carb diet and measuring out the foods I eat, and hopefully rid myself of these cravings and break the bad habits. Anyway, thanks for posting, it helps to know others are having the same struggles and worries. Hang in there. And oh, you look great Hugs Dru 254/150/145

Hiya Sharon, First off, like Erin said, dont beat yourself up. So you ate the whole thing - just dont make a habit of it. Next time maybe get the go go box right away and put half of it away. Maybe also, get a salad and eat some of that first this way you wont be famished when the pizza comes. I think that all of our weight loss has slowed down a lot - we are eating much more normal size portions and now we have to be carefull of what we eat. I see in your profile that you had been going to Curves - make the decision to get back to it - dont procrastinate - the longer we wait the harder it is to get back into it. You have come so far, dont give up now!!! You just need a little motivation - set a small goal for yourself, say even 2 lbs in 2 weeks - then go out and do everything you can to make it happen - make the right food choices - get back into Curves - drink lots of water. We can do anything for only 2 weeks. Once you see how much better you feel and that you WILL lose more weight I am sure you will be much more motivated. Keep us posted on how you are doing!! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea
