I am from Texas. My wife is from Idaho. She did the same thing that you are doing so that she could be with me. She contracted a moving company, but she boxed up all her stuff herself. The company was very professional, and despite thinking that things wouldn't fit, they packed everything tightly. They have their own ticketing system, where they will have a number to each item and each box. That is how they track stuff. Keep items you want with you, like passports, id's etc. My wife and I drove her car all the way down here to Texas. That is 1700 miles and that was an experience. I think that the moving company will come and you tell them what is going on the truck and they will make an inventory list and go from room to room. You get a signed copy of that list. If you want to ask any further questions, email me back. I know this can be an exciting and worryfull time for you. Everything will be ok. Ramon 516/350/250

Hey, I'm with ya! I am also 4 lbs from my goal weight of 135. I see the clothes size I am wearing, I see the weight on the scales, but I forget. In a crowd I still will suck in to let someone get passed me. I still get nervous about sitting in the corner...will I fit? My sister had the surgery 2 1/2 years ago...she says it gets better. Just wanted to let you know, I can completely identify with you. Congratulations, and God bless!

Well, I made it a few months ago, but life has been hectic. But I made it...105lbs off my body!!!! I am feeling great!! To everyone that is going through this, enjoy the ride, it is worth it. Everyone that has been through it, thanks for your support! Everyone that is thinking of going through it, get educated, a support system, and pray about it. God bless all of you!

Hi, Everyone!!! I hope everyone is well and happy! We are relocating to another state. We have hired a moving company to pack us and to move us. (Thank G-d!! I just don't think I could have done that alone (Captain is offshore) while caring for three children!) Anyway, I have been purging the house of good things (donating to Hurricane Katrina survivors and victims) and of bad (trash/junk). I need some guidance here. I have never moved more than 40 miles from home. I have NO idea what I am doing. I'm SURE I SHOULD be doing SOMETHING?!?!?! We will bring all of our art and those precious things so I know I have to pack that but I'm trying to keep the house in order as long as I can but umm..it's time. Anyway, what am I supposed to be doing in preparation for this moving company to come move me? They pack the boxes and take an inventory but should I have my shoes all lined up, my clothes organized by length, my linens folded all nice and tucked? I have no idea what to do and what to expect!!! (other than missing my family-I expect that*sigh*) Any and all suggestions are appreciated! Hugs, ~Vanessa~

I have mostly issues with picking out clothes, I reach for the bigger sizes and then .....NEWS FLASH! IT AIN"T GONA FIT!!!! LOL I sometimes don't "feel" thin. I look in the mirror and see myself and I can't believe it is me. I see people that weigh the same and wear the same size as me, but I don't see myself being that thin. I know it is crazy. The mental thing is hard to get over. I see now why some people don't need to have this surgery. I know someone who had an eating disorder before she had surgery and now she weighs 60lbs and has a permanent feeding tube in. She still sees herself as fat and continues to make herself throw up. I'm finally within 4 pounds of my personal goal weight. Weighing in now at 144--thats 121 pound loss! You can check out my profile for pics and recent update. I'm happy with the results but I am going to post-op therapy groups monthly at Pennsylvania Hospital. This group works on my "head"---the part that the surgeon did not fix! I don't know if anyone else still has "fat" thoughts while sitting alone but after going to this group, I see that I'm not the only one here in Philadelphia that feels this way. What are your thoughts?

I am here. I don't check the boards as much as I used to. Too busy living. I got engaged on Sept 8 (almost a month ago WOW) so I am in the beginning stages of planning a wedding for fall 2006. Other than that I started a new job on Sept 12 and loving it. I have lost 182lbs since surgery and am 47lbs away from my goal. I won't make this by my 1 year anniversary but my goal for that is to be at 200 or below. Only have 27lbs to reach that; tough goal but I am gonna do it. Lise Tulsa OK Dr Gorospe 409/227/180

Hi Sandra! I'm doing fantastic! I am about 20 lbs from my surgeons goal weight for me. My only goal was to be under 200 lbs, so for me, the rest is icing. I have lost 16 lbs since August 1.. that's still a pretty good rate of loss. I've not really plateaued at all [biting tongue when saying that] my weight loss has been pretty steady. I should have had it done sooner also, but after fighting with insurance, Dr's leaving, etc for 5 yrs.. what could I do? Just keep plugging along and praying. But now, I am LIVING and LOVING my life! I feel better than I have my entire adult life! WaHoO! hugs, Vickie 348/189/wherever my body decides it's 11/22/04 Dr. Trace Curry Cincinnatti, Ohio
