Topic: hernia and tummy tuck
I just discovered an abdominal hernia which will need to be repaired and I wondered if I could do a tummy tuck at the same time. Even if I have to pay for the plastic part, wouldn't most of the hospital cost be covered because the hernia is medically necessary? I'm almost a year out and lost 80 lb. I'm having some pain w/ the hernia and so may have to get it repaired sooner rather than later. thanks Jan

The year has gone quickly! 1.) no complications really (in the beginning some foaming episodes, but none recently) 2.) so far I've lost 80 lbs, which I'm happy with but I want more. I have slowed down but want to focus on 'the rules' and go for more. 3.) My doctor never gave me a 'goal' weight, so if I said 150 is goal (probably not going to get there I've lost 50%) but a more realistic goal of 180 would make it 61% 4.) Loss....hmmm can't say anything (my hair is also grown back, wavy!) 5.) I could finally buckle the seat belt in my friend's car 6.) next goal. I want to break the 100 lb mark (20 lb to go) and then I would want to get under 200 lb (30 lb for that). I've really appreciated hearing from this group of people who had surgery in November. Everyone's experiences are different, but it is reassuring seeing the process we've all gone through. Good luck to us all! Jan 308/230/?150-180

Take your vitamins and eat your protein. Ok with that out of the way Congratulations on your weight loss. How are your labs?? I one of those who followed all the rules ....??....that's just me too chicken to risk it and I still have probs keeping my iron level up and sometimes my calcium levels drop but I'm watching it closely! I am down 85lbs and I wear a size 6/8. I am feeling great!! So much energy and I love to exercise regularly!! I am planning on PS soon and I'm really excited about that!! It is amazing how fast this past year is going!! ~Best Wishes ~Summer

Hi Erica! I'm so sorry about the m/c I do remember it on the preggo board. I had one and also didn't know I was even preggo. Yes...almost a year!~~ Life is definately better!! I didn't reach my goal for weight but I did reach my goal to be free of the oxygen, chest pains, asthma, sleep apnia and all meds!!! I lost about 90 pounds and will be happy with that. I'm not brave enough to get professional pics done! I don't think I look as good as I feel yet. Melissa C. just emailed me to explain how to get my pic on the boards. I'm computer dumb! Good luck to you! I hope Monday brings a huge positive result!!! Jennifer
