The first thing that I noticed that I thought was quite funny...my necklaces got longer LOL!!! I would never wear a watch, although I didn't have really huge wrists, I just did not like the way a watch looked on ME, now I am LOST without my watch LOL Oh and the obvious...although I always looked nice when we went somewhere, I HATED to shop for clothes, now I LOVE shopping for clothes...trying with no successs right now to find a dress, or ourfit for my nephews wedding on November 5th, in PA. Will be the first time that they have seen me since losing weight! Debi 279/162/150ish??

I wasn't expecting to see my bones to be so prominent. When laying down, my hips just pop right out. And I love the look of my collerbones just showing through. But it did make me realize that I am a "big boned" girl. Even with the weight going away, my bone structure will only allow me to be a size 10 or 12.

I thought I would start a new thing here. To try and keep the board fun and moving. What is one thing that has happened to you since surgery that you didn't expect? (either good or bad)

Hi Ann Marie, My one year will be on 11/29. I had a really slow start. My doctor does very "cautious" fills. I didn't have my first fill until January '05. And until May '05 I had little to no restriction. I actually consider my re-birth until May '05, not Nov '04. Since that time my weight loss has been great. So my first year results won't be as great as others. Bu****ch out by May '06 I promise to have more than 100 lbs off.

I talked to my doc and my surgeon about this and they both suggested to do both at the same time - the surgery would be the abdominal hernia repair... and while you are open on the table they can do the TT at the same time - it should cut your costs considerably and don't be afraid to shop around -- get costs up front. Jan, I am certain I have read on OH about people going in for a hernia repair and adding the tummy tuck in while they were in there. But you might want to check out the Plastic Surgery forum to find out the details on what insurance covered for others. Good luck! Sorry to hear about the hernia, but a tummy tuck sounds great!!
