Topic: RE: How much weight have you lost?
Hi everyone. Congrats to all of you for being such a success!!!
As for me. I had my surgery on 11/10 and I've lost 92 lbs. I'm down a total of 125 from my highest weight last year. I lost 33 lbs before surgery. I'm 10 lbs away from my surgeon's goal. I am 5'0" and weigh 130. I have been at a standstill for 2 months. I'm pretty happy where I am though. So I don't really care about the 10 lbs. If I lose them.. great if not.. that's fine too.
God bless!

Your pictures are great and you should be very proud of yourself!
Once a very kind doctor wanted to say something about my need to loose weight. She just looked at me and said, 'my grandmother use to say, gain beauty, instead of lose weight'. I think we all seem even more beautiful when the weight has melted off to reveal what has been there all along.

Hi Michelle,
I have had the same problem and it was my thyroid...just got started on meds this week.
It made me so mad because for years doctors have told me "lose weight and you will feel better and have more energy" and there I was still waiting to feel good.
Go see your doctor and tell him/her your concerns.
Good Luck,
Lori

Hi Suzanne!
I had surgery 11/22 and have lost 86 pounds so far. I was just started on thyroid meds though so I am hoping that gets me moving again.

Hi Suzanne I had surgery on the 15th and I am down 150 pounds and so happy with the results. I am hoping to maintain now here at 155. At 5'9" I don't think I should go any lower. Take care and Congrats!

Hi guys,
I am down 119lbs and have surpassed my surgeon's goal for me, but would like to get down to about 130ish. I am 139 right now (finally in my ideal body weight BMI goal) and hoping since AF is on her way out, a few more lbs will drop in the next day or two. I tend to only lose 1-2 weeks out of the month (right after AF). I can't say I have exercised, though. I know, that's really bad and I'm sure I would be at 130 by now if I was exercising, but it seems as soon as I am in the routine, I get injured. For several weeks it was pulled achilles tendons and almost 2 weeks ago, I ran over my toe with the door and apparently chipped the bone since I can barely walk with shoes on!! It's starting to feel better now though, so I plan to try the treadmill out after I post this. I was doing well for a week or two before that happened though. So, maybe with some exercise and staying on target with my food rules, I will be able to drop those 9lbs by my 1 year post op appt on Nov. 22nd! Wishful thinking, huh? LOL Oh well. I am happy where I am and would do this surgery a million times over to be as healthy as I am today!! Take care and God bless!!

Hiya Melissa,
Well, I was very conservative in my initial goals prior to my surgery and I ended up lowering my weight loss goal. I am now 3 lbs under my lowest goal! Even with this, though, I am right smack in the middle of my recommended BMI.
One thing you may consider as the cause for you weighing more than you thought is muscle. Maybe you have more muscle than you had originally thought you would, and muscle weighs more than fat. Regardless - the weight is just numbers, if you dont have the fat to lose you dont have it and that is awesome!! Who cares what the number is as long as you are healthy! I am sure you look absolutely fabulous as well! Keep up the good work!!!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
Topic: RE: Need some help!!!
Hiya Michelle,
I know for me, I get tired when I dont eat enough protein and/or I eat too many complex carbs. I feel bogged down - just like everything physically and emotionally is pulling me down. When I feel like this I take a look at what I have been eating in the past week and ALWAYS I have slacked on my protein and picked up on my complex carbs (usually pretzels). Also, usually it happens when I havent been able to get in my usual 3 to 4 days of exercise (either running or elliptical). I am not sure which is the cause and which is the effect but I know that when I get my food intake and exercise on track I feel so much better! So my suggestion for you is to take a look at what it is you are snacking on - is it complex carbs? Are you getting enough protein in? Are you exercising? And then the other thing is also the water - are you drinking enough water (not including anything with caffeine!). If none of these things are the issue, and you are taking your vitamins like you are supposed to, I would go to the doctor and see if maybe there is some other medical issue causing this. Keep us posted!!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
