Topic: One Year Anniversary
I can't believe I found this board yesterday and today is my one year anniversary. It has been an amazing year. I have lost 144 pounds. The day of surgery I weighed 328. This morning I weighed 184. I was wearing a size 28 - 30 and today I wear a 16. My family and friends have been so supportive. I am thankful for this opportunity to get my life back. Angie

Hmmmmmm...good question! I guess my best experience would be the other day when I went shopping with some friends and went into Maurices and bought a pair of size 9/10 jeans that looked totally HOT!!!!! The worst experience would have to be the negativity of close minded people. So many people look at this surgery as a "easy way out". If they only knew........ Karry 311/167 goal and still going!!!

I really can't recall a bad experience, but I have had lots of good ones! I am having a hard time with people fussing at me and telling me not to loose any more weight! It's almost as annoying as someone telling you to loose weight! I am happy !! Melinda

I've had so many wonderful experience I don't have the time or enough room on this screen to put it all on. I think the worst experince was of course the surgery but it's kinda like having a baby you soon forget the pain. I would have this surgery over again in a heart beat, it has done wonderful things for me.

My best experience just occured this past weekend! I needed a winter coat, so I went to Talbots and saw a beautiful camel-colored cape with brown fur around the collar and down the front. I tried on a Large and it was WAY too big. So, I went to the next size down, which in Talbots is a S/M. I haven't had a piece of clothing on my body with an "s" on it since I was five years old! My worst experience? Having my boyfriend tell me that he doesn't think he would have been attracted to me prior to my surgery. Men are such a-holes! I told him that I wouldn't have considered dating HIM then, either. (So THERE!) Denise 326/184/150

Worst--stricture and hospital stay from it Best--way too many to count. Mostly when I see poeple who haven't seen me in a while and they are shocked!

My best I think was the day i hit the ONEderfuls. I don't even remember being under 200 pounds, so that feeling of knowing I will never be OVER 200 pounds again was just great. My worst was the last time I had to go to the hospital. I was two months out and I had been dealing with a stricture for 5 weeks and everything came to a stop when I was crawling on the floor to get to the bathroom. I was so serverly dehydrated and malnurished from the stricture that I couldn't walk. My husband said that's it you are going to the hospital and not coming home till you are better. I am very thankful he did that and 3 days later I was home and have not looked back since. But I do preach very hard to people who get strictures to get them taken care quickly now so that no one ever goes through what I did.
