Topic: RE: How did that Turkey Day go??
My Thanksgiving was great. I ate a little of everything, but not too much. I had some turkey w/ a little bit of gravy, homemade sausage stuffing that i made, some mashed potatoes, broccoli w/ cheese sauce made w/ skim milk, ( I did all the cooking). I did have a piece of pie. But it was a no sugar added blueberry pie w/ fat free cool whip. I can't eat anything with sugar. Everyone there has already seen me since surgery so no big surprises there. And the lesson of the day would be that Thanksgiving isn't all about the food, it's about family and friends and sharing and having a good time making new memories together! God Bless, ~Angel 255/222/130/120

Topic: One year excitement!
Hello everyone! I wanted to post this before my "month" anniversary expires tomorrow. My surgery was on 11/16/04. I had lap-rny. All went beautifully! My highest weight was 410, day of surgery was 380, current weight is 237, goal weight is 149 (below 150) pounds. I am amazed with the results this last year has brought. I have lost 173 pounds so far! WA-HOO! I have lost over 120 inches total over my entire body. WOW!!! I have had my moments of depression and discouragement, but the support I give myself and receive from those around me keep me both boosted and grounded at the same time. Thank you for your support and advice and encouragement. I love logging in for fellowship and support. Needed to share today! My almost nine year old son keeps track of how much weight I lose based on how much he weighs. I have lost two "Charlie's" and am working on a third.

However my goal is not to be thin, it was just to be HEALTHY, so I DID make my goal! I have lived more in the last 9 months than I had in the past 25 yrs! WooT! Wheelchair, covered in dust, as is my c-pap and a list of medications. Life is worth living, enjoy every minute of it! hugs, Vickie

Soo...... it is now a major holiday - that most often revolves around eating under our belt... how did it go??? Did you overeat??? Did you have some pie???? How was the encounter with those people who haven't seen you since surgery??? What has been the most valuable lesson learned about eating and food??? Happy Belated Turkey Day ALL!!! Topic: RE: Almost a year out! What a ride!
Thank you so much for the compliment! Last year, my family kinda skipped Thanksgiving because of my sugery. I am very blessed to have them! I got out of the hospital on Thanksgiving day and instead of going out my wife took care of me and the rest of the family ate at the church. This year we are going to eat at Golden Correl, it is easier for us to go out to eat with there only being 6 of us! Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!

It has been quite a year. My neice showed me the pic from last years thanksgiving dinner, that we did early so I could still pig out as my surgery was Nov. 8th. And I took up almost as much space as the whole rest of the group. LOL I looked at your pics they are awsome!!!!
