Topic: RE: WLS and estrogen
Hi Stephanie, I can sort of relate to your issue, however what I experienced is a little different. I had to go through hysterectomy at 44. This was done in April. I guess the shock to my system was so humangous, that when my period started right after RNY, it did not stop until the surgery in April with little breaks. I am not in menapause though since the ovaries were left intact. My gyn said they will shut down by age 50 and then I will have to go on estrogen. I was also told I can gain weight on it, so I am not in a hurry to start it. The whole experience with the symptoms I had prior to the surgery was a nightmare. Constant pain in lower abdomen and headaches, DNCs every month...I am so glad it is over. I hope you feel better soon. Good luck! Lena

Topic: Having a HORRIBLE time here!
I had my 1 year anniversary on the 16th, and I was in the dang hospital for it!! I am 11 weeks pregnant and was having terrible pain in my pouch. I couldn't eat let alone move. My surgeon sent me to ER and then admitted me. I had an endoscope WITHOUT sedation due to the baby and let me tell you how great that was! They found a hiatal hernia. Fine, they said it was normal and there was no treatment for it. I am not sure if I believe that though. The surgeon was giving me morphine for the pain and basically said he didn't know why I was in pain. I kept asking if the drugs were ok for the baby and he finally responded by telling me he couldn't help me anymore!!! The nurse ended up checking on the morphine with the hospital pharmacy and they said it wasn't safe with the amounts he was giving! UGH! I called my OB (who doesn't work at this hospital) and he said GET OUT OF THERE! He admitted me to his hospital and said surgeon was giving me 4 times the safe amount of drugs for the baby!!! I'm PISSED!!! Anyway, he found me a new surgeon that found a gastric duodenum ulcer causing the pain and inability to eat. I'm now on three stomach meds and home from the 8 day hospital stay. I am getting hydration and nutrition through a picc line 2 times a day now until things get better. It sucks so bad that I can't even go to work if I wanted to! This Christmas will be non gift giving though. I feel bad for my daughter. Sorry to be a downer, but I'm so depressed! Thanks for listening! Jennifer
