Topic: RE: Some Highlights of my weekend
Hey Jennifer,
Clothes shopping!! Isn't it fun to get smaller stuff?!! I did find some pants that I liked at Fashion Bug. They were $20 - size 16. Don't know what size you're in but maybe try there. Didn't it make you feel good to donate your hair? I did that last year (13 inches) and it made me feel so good knowing that my hair would go to someone who didn't have any. Little did I know that that person might just be me!! Actually, my hair loss isn't that bad.
Take care!

Topic: Finally hit 65 pounds lost!!
Sometimes it seems like this is taking forever but then if I start thinking about when was the last time I lost 65 pounds in 22 weeks it's all ok again, lol.
For sizes I am wearing a large top (big chest and I hate anything tight) and size 12 pants. I remember thinking if I could just get to a size 14 I will never complain again. Funny how we change that tune once we get there and past, lol.
It's all good right??
Hope all is well with all my November surgery sisters and brothers.

Topic: RE: Eating in restaurants
My problem is that I can eat anything and have only gotten sick 4 times from eating to fast and to much!! At taco bell I am addicted to the Fiesta chicken bowl. But I only eat about 1/2 of it and my boss finishes it for me. My boss and hubby are gaining weight because I give them all my left overs. I do order from the kids menu, mostly fish with a sm. salad. I have eaten at Texas Road House and ordered their kids steak bits? They were awesome!! Had a bite of their bread as well, which is SO GOOD. O.k. now I am starving......ha ha Seems like we are all doing well. Good luck and blessing to everyone.
Topic: Some Highlights of my weekend
Hi WLS family!
Just wanted to share my experiences this weekend.
Well for the last 1 1/2 years I have NOT cut my hair.. due to that was the last thing on my mind (dealing with 'making myself pretty'). It was pretty long and when I told my trainer that I was going to cut it off once it started falling out, she said "Oh are you going to give it to locks of love?" I didn't even thing about that as I never thought my hair was that long (needs to be a donation of 10 inches or longer).. well it was and it is now chopped off to a length of just below my ear! So I will be sending in my hair What's also nice is that it doesn't seem like I am losing as much hair as pre-hair-cut and I look about 5-10 years younger! Wow!
Second highlight is that I went shopping for clothes as my pants are falling off. It was extremely weird walking into the 'petite' section or the 'junior' section. It was very hard for me to give up Lane Bryant! The clothes, pants in particular, are so narrow through the hips and thighs-- I guess that's where I'm carrying the most of my weight. I felt so bad for the employees of where I shopped since I was bringing in multiple sizes of garments since I had not a clue as to my size. I also had to get something to lift the ladies, if you get my saying. It was so sad to see that I had a lot of loose skin there and I have no clue how to work that area.
So I felt confident with my hair cut but I had a big learning experience with buying new clothes.
Thanks for letting me share and if you have any 'lady' suggestions or places that sell pants for short people- with roomier hips and thighs and where pants actually sit on your waist, not your hips- let me know!

Julie,
It is not too early to plateau, I have been on at least 3 since surgery. I have found that if I plateau, I go back to basics and/or go to an Atkins or South Beach based diet with no carbs for several days. It usually breaks the cycle.

Topic: RE: Thank God the scale is moving again!
Hey Ken,
117 is a tremendous accomplishment!! Wow!! I'm really proud of you and you should feel wonderful. Keep following the rules and the weight will continue to come off. I'm happy for you that the scale started to move again - keep your fingers crossed for me - I'm stuck! Kids are just great aren't they?!!? They don't hold back - I'm glad that you thought it was funny that he/she said you have lots of fat - I might have cried! You are doing an awsome job - keep it up - you're an inspiration!

Julie,
I'm right there with you. The scale hasn't moved since April 9th!! I have to believe what everyone else has posted is true - If we keep doing what we're supposed to be doing then the weight will start to come off again. Even thought the scale hasn't moved, I can wear my size 16's and don't even mind being seen by the neighbors when I'm in them - LOL! The inches are slowly dropping even if the scale isn't moving (darn thing!)
Keep up the good work!
