Topic: RE: Dizzy & a little weak
If it went away after you stayed still for a while, it was orthostatic hypotension, blood was circulating only to the top two thirds of your body (due to kneeling, crouching) then it rushed to your entire body when you stood up resulting in dizziness. When we lose wt our blood pressure usually goes down, so when we do things like this it takes it down even further, causing the dizziness, if we were prone to high blood pressure, we may or may not notice it at all, but with a lower blood pressure you notice. Frequent stand up breaks will take care of it as well as proper hydration and rising slowly after crouching for long periods of time. If it didn't go away after you steadied yourself than it was probably your blood sugar. Just like diabetics, because we eat so little, we should have a couple bites of food or a protein drink when we are doing a lot of activity. You know how we can get lost into doing something and forget to eat/drink. Hope this helps, and it is not too long, it is the nurse in me I guess.

Hi Andrea, I'm only 5'0". I am trying to get to a goal of at least 120 maybe 115. So I have another 35-40 lbs to go. I'm down to 155 today which is exactly where I was 23 yrs ago when I had my daughter. I'm very happy about it. If this is all God has for me..I'll take it. If he sees fit for me to lose a bit more.. great. At this point, I haven't been this healthy in yrs. My asthma is virtually gone. My blood pressure is perfect. I can breathe normally and sleep at night with no problems. I thank God so much for what he has done for me. I am truly blessed. You look fantastic. I was telling my husband about you and how we started out at about the same weight and how much you have lost. His first question was "how tall is she?" So it's very funny that you ask me the same thing. God Bless, ~Angel 222/155/120

Hi Pamela, I am glad that things have been improving in your life -with your mom, your dad and your cat. I am praying for your employment situation. I got dizzy only once, and I have no idea why. I was standing there talking to my husband and all of a sudden things got a little.... off....kinda sideways and tilting. I just closed my eyes and breathed deep for a few moments and opened my eyes and everything was normal after that. I have no idea what caused it and had forgotten about it until you mentioned your dizziness. I will keep that in prayer also. God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

Hi Angel, Thanks for your kind words. You are doing great too! The plateau will end and you will lose again! I am wondering how tall you are - we both started around the same weight and have a similar goal weight - I am 5'2" although some say I am 5'1" but I DONT!! LOL I need that inch! hehe. God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

I've eaten turkey and veggie dogs for a while now as an occasional treat...a little high in fat and salt for a healthy food but the turkey ones are pretty good and I eat them with mustard on a single piece of low carb bread. Hey...your kids might like the turkey ones too and they are healthier. Jo

Thanks Debbie - dont worry about those plateaus - it seems I hit one once a month for a week and I think "well, that is all I will lose, but I have to be thankfull for even this" and then it starts coming off. Just do what you know you should be doing and dont worry about it - it will start coming off again! You will reach your goal before you know it! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea
