Topic: RE: swelling
Hi Robin,
Did you find out anything about your swelling? I had a problem with it too. Particularly my lower legs and ankles. I have hypertension and thought that my medication was a problem. Just wanted to see what you found out.

You look so beautiful. You lost weight and became blonde too. You can't go wrong now. Though I'm a redhead. I bet you feel absolutely fantastic. We are all so hard on ourselves and even I have started believing the positive thinking I always made believe I felt. I've lost 90 pounds and I feel great!! You keep up the good work and don't let anyone make you feel bad. You deserve to feel good about the hard work you are doing on your body. Anyone that doesn't think it's hard work hasn't walked in our moccasins. Take care. xoxo

Topic: RE: slow weight loss
Hi April I think your doing great! I think the closer we get to the ideal weight for us the slower the weight loss becomes. If I could suggest anything it might be to actually up your intake slightly. I think your doing wonderful though, and you have to remember that we can continue to lose for up to 18mos. Take care and Congrats on the weightloss. KatherineL

Water, protein and exercise are the ways to go. Sounds like you are doing great though. It just naturally slows down about now. Good luck.

Topic: RE: Water Loading at six months
Water loading is primarily a tool to fill your stomach up so you don't feel hunger and therefore dont eat too much and stretch your pouch. The best thing you can do if you are on a plateau that I have found is increase the liquid and protein you consume. Eliminate the carbs or reduce them to also help. I don'****erload but if the scales don't move in a couple of weeks, I may try it. But I'm not actually more hungry. I'm just slowing down...

Topic: RE: Difficult in eating Bread?
This is a very common problem. If you must eat bread, choose a cracker or there is some toasted bread products at Krogers in the Imported aisle. It's from England and they are little toasted bread slices that are very good and don't hurt our pouches other than the carbs that we should limit. Sometimes I just have to have a slice of toast with peanut butter on it. It works for me. I've lost 90 pounds since November. Though it is slowing down now. Good luck.

Topic: RE: Difficult in eating Bread?
Hi Sharon,
I dont eat bread because it takes up too much room and it has too many carbohydrates. In addition to bread, I stay away from pasta, rice and potatoes as well for the same reason. Also they very easily convert to sugar and with my RNY I dont do sugar any more and anything that has more than a gram or 2 will make me VERY nauseaus. I try to concentrate on the protein first, veggies next and then there isnt room usually for anything else. I do have some carbs as snack in the form of fruit or Wheat Thins - I will have 4 of them with some whipped cream cheese - but other than that I stay away from it. I dont miss the bread, etc... and I will probably never even bother to try to reintroduce it.
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea

My nutrionist said that anything like bread or pasta can get sticky after you eat it and ball up in your stomach and not go down! I have been too scared to try eating bread because I hate to vomit! Now I am sure I won't! Thanks for the info!! A
