Topic: RE: Difficult in eating Bread?
I really don't eat bread at all...I try to keep my carb count low, helps with hunger and weight loss.
I occasionally have a rye crisp...

Topic: RE: A WOW moment
My WOW moment was during a garage sale the other day.
A larger woman was shopping and I told her I might have some clothes that would fit her. She said, "Oh your clothes won't fit me...I am MUCH bigger than you".
Well I really saw myself as a size smaller than her (and yes, my clothes did work for her and she bought a few)...but MUCH smaller?
It was interesting to see how someone (who I thought was close) viewed me as much smaller.
I guess we don't always see ourselves as others do.

Topic: Angel Update for Brenda in Arizona!
I spoke with Brenda's mother this afternoon, and her surgery went very well. Brenda was resting when I called. Remember surgery day? Gosh, I was totally out of it too!! I just wanted to sleep! So she is on ice chips today and after the leak test tomorrow she can have liquids. They were able to do surgery laproscopically and so all is well there. Her recovery is going to be a snap. Lap rocks!!
I'll call her tomorrow and see how she's doing on day 2. Please post some thoughts, concern and support on Brenda's surgery page below. I will print this out and fax this to the hospital Tuesday afternoon for the nurses to give to her. Her surgery is 2.5 hrs north of me, otherwise I'd deliver it in person. So please post some encouraging words on her site below (even if you have already posted before her surgery). She needs support right now more than ever!!!

Topic: RE: Water Loading at six months
Do a search for "pouch rules for dummies". It is a lot of good reading and printing, but makes a lot of sense. I started this weekend and am indeed much more full than before. I got worried because I could tolerate more food. It basically entails,
sipping fluid 2-4 hours after a meal.
15 minutes before your next meal,
you gulp 3/4 of your max and 6-8oz
then finish by sipping to your max (8-12oz).
Wait 15 minutes, eat (protein first then veg/fruit)
then no fluids for 1.5-2 hours
then start all over again.
It pretty much is supposed to help you through head hunger as well as physical hunger. The water before the meal makes the intestine squeeze and the food that follows the water stays in your pouch longer and it signals the brain that you are not hungry. You are to do this for all meals and if hunger returns before a meal (not likely). It is very important that you start sipping at the 1.5-2 Hr timeframe or the actual loading won't work.
Topic: RE: A WOW moment
I have a uniform to wear at night when I dispatch and I was lazy and didn't wash my khaki pants thinking I would get up early and do it. So I'm rushing around when I saw my 18 year olds khaki pants for work freshly laundered. I tried them on and they fit men's 38's. In fact a bit baggy. I wore them to work. HE he - of course I would never tell him.
Thanks for making me think about it - it was a good wow moment
