Hi Mary,
I cant get over the way it is so hard for our mindset to change along with our weight loss. I guess it takes things like your experience to help us to realize that yes we are getting smaller!! I am glad you had this eye opening, smile bringing experience!
God bless you and keep you,

Topic: My first Roller Coaster ride since surgery...
Hi all,
12 years ago I tried to get on a roller coaster at Kings Dominion in Va-no such luck at 330 pounds I couldn't fit. The humiliation was unbareble, so with my held held down and heart in my stomach I exited the ride.
However, this past Sunday I went to Hershey Park with my family and I was able to ride every roller coaster without having to experiece the any embarressment. The only thing that bothered me was my fear of not fitting into the seat. Every ride I would look for heavier people or study the seat size.
Somehow, I'm in denial over my 97 pound weight loss. I actually found myself shaking inside. I didn't have peace until the end of the day, when I got in line for another roller coaster ride and saw a sign that said that had special seating for tall and overweight people. When I was seated a worker came up to me and asked me to move. She said I wasn't heavy enough to be seated in that seat and asked me to move, to accomidate a heavier rider. She wasn't gone more then a moment when a smile appeared on my face. I wasn't as fat as my mind keeps betraying me to be.

I have a new favorite...although I only have the protein drink for breakfast, at 5 months out I can get most of my protein from food.
I get it at Rite Aid...a little pricey but yummy. Advant Edge (it's a prepared drink, not a powder) they have new coffee flavors with real coffee (if your doc lets you have caffeine). I Like the mocha latte flavor.
Only 100 calories, 15 g of protein. I can't handle solid food in the morning because I go to the gym so this works.
But getting it from food is better.

Jennifer,
You have good advice, drink your water. You are carrying much fluid. Dont' weigh yourself. Be surprised when you have your first post op check up. You will be on cloud nine leaving the docs office.
