Yes, my weight loss is slower. I watch all calories going into my mouth, approx. 1100 per day, no more...nope....and I excercise more. About 8 lbs a months now. 97 lbs down altogether in 6 months. This surgery is work...especially now if you want the rest of the weight off. It is not a dream...we have got to work at it. Sandy in Tucson

Definitely slowing down. I lost very quickly, 98lbs in 5 mos. Now I seem to be slowing to a trickle. I am also having a really hard time with water again. For some reason I just feel like I am struggling to get any down at all. I made an appt with the nutrionist, hopefully this will get me back on track.

Topic: RE: Nov Babes... what % of excess weight have you lost??
My goal is a bit more modest than other people's I guess. I'm not really going by the BMI charts. I'm looking at the build of the women in my family (genetics) to get a realistic idea of what size I will eventually be. There are no skinny women in my family; most are short, busty, curvy and even at their smallest, their sizes range between 12-16. At my starting weight of 280 I was wearing 24/26. Today I weigh exactly 200. Some of my clothes, depending on the manufacturer, are in sizes 14-18. Because of my build, I always have to go a size larger with my tops. My goal is to get down to about a size 12/14. I'm estimating that a weight of somewhere around 175 would put me there. That would put me at 76% to goal. Wow... Thanks for this post. Helps put things in perspective. SueZQ

Butting in here... sorry... Basically what I have done, and it's worked for me is to get back on track with HIGH protein, LOW carbs and LOTS of water. You definitely want to exercise too! That's my weak point, but I'm working on it... GOOD LUCK!!! Angie http://www.geocities.com/tiger_angie

I am 5'7" tall and weighed 271 at day of surgery. My ideal weight is 135 (what my doctor calls run way model weight) and I have lost 70 pounds so I have lost 52% of my excess body weight.

Topic: RE: 6 month checkup
Hi there twin I have lost about 70lbs unofficially. I don't see my surgeon until next month. My hubby is having WLS surgery 5/16 so life has been a little hectic getting ready for that. I am doing great with my protein and fluids. I have started excercising just about everyday. My weight still comes off in the same manner, lose for about a week and then nothing for the rest of the month. It is not coming off as fast now probably about 5-6 pounds a month but I am okay with that as long as it keeps coming off. Teresa 271/201/150

Topic: 6 month checkup
Well, it's almost Friday! Yesterday I had my 6 mo. checkup with the surgeon. All my bloodwork came back fine. My cholesterol is down 38 points! The doctor said that my cholesterol is better than his! I've lost 65 lbs and am right on target (I want to lose a total of 110). I'm feeling pretty good, I have energy for the most part (I have 3 sons that wear me out pretty well) and life is good. How are you all doing? Deb 243/178/135?

I'm 73% of the way to my surgeon's goal and 66% of the way to mine. Six months today! Down 75 at my appt. It just doesn't seem like it's been that long. Way to go ladies! It sounds like everyone is doing great! Carey 243/168/130
