Topic: RE: Back from Disney, my fears were groundless.
Well WTG Lisa! I'm so glad for you. Last time I went to Universal and Disney.. My kids wanted to get a wheel chair for me because they didn't think I could make it w/ all the walking. I didn't even attempt to do the rides. I could barely walk in the heat. I had to keep drinking water and sitting down at every bench. It was really a sad sight. I almost passed out a few times. Good for you that you were able to enjoy it.

Topic: I'm "Overweight"
As of today I am no longer in the obese catergory!! Praise God!
My BMI is 29.9 which puts me in the top of the overweight catergory. Who knew i'd be so happy to say that. But I truly am happy. I haven't been at this weight in 23 yrs. Since I gave birth to my first child. According to the charts my goal weight should be 118. So i'm only 35 lbs away from that. Not too bad. I hope everyone else is doing as well and meeting their goals. God Bless my WLS brothers and sisters!

Topic: RE: My first Roller Coaster ride since surgery...
I'm so happy for you. That must be an amazing feeling! WTG!!
I'm looking forward to going to Jamaica next month. I haven't been on an airplane in about 5 yrs. I held the seat belt over my lap and covered it with my jacket so they couldn't see that it wasn't buckled in. I was too embarrassed to say that it wouldn't fit. I'd like to be able to fasten my seat belt this time!

Topic: RE: Nov Babes... what % of excess weight have you lost??
Ok.. so I suck at math. I have no idea. My highest weight was 255, day of surgery it was 222, today it is 153. The planner thing says my ideal weight is 118. I have 35 more lbs to go to get to goal. I'm 5'0".
If someone can figure this out.. thank you.
I do know that as of today I am now considered "overweight" Yay for me. 29.9 BMI!! I'm very excited about that!

Congratulations, you are doing great. I normally don't weight but once a month, but I felt a difference in my clothes and weighed today. I lost 5# in one week. I have started the water loading. I will let you know if it continues. I am so happy. I had only 4# lost in the entire month of April. Good luck to all of you
Topic: RE: Struggling with depression????
Yup, sounds right to me. I made the mistake of not starting the anti-depressants after I got out of the hospital. Enjoying the thought that I was taking no medication at all...a mistake, big mistake...
best of luck

Thanks for the post, it's a real pick me up. I have been thinking I'm doing terrible but by the calculations I've lost 60% of the excess weight! Tho for the ideal weight I used the top of the scale, cause I come from rather large peasant stock...But still 48% if I use the bottom of the scale.
funny tho, I still don't see a difference when I look in the mirror....

I can see that.
I know I have had episodes in my life, beside clinical depression runs in the gene pool.
It is a very good thing to explore - Good Luck.

Teresa,
I lose weight in the exact same way! We really are twins!! Good luck to your husband. How great that he has you to count on and give him advise since you're an expert now! Tell him that I wish him well. Remember to take care of you while you're taking care of him.
Your twin,
Deb
