Topic: RE: Who has joined Curves?
O.K. so I joined Curves last night. I paid a $49.00 start-up fee and $29.00 a month deducted off my credit card. What is so funny is that they told me the enrollment fee was $150.00 but since I was the "100th" customer I will get my enrollment fee at 66% off and only have to pay $49.00 plus the 1st month at $29.00! I thought that was bull but I joined anyway. I need to do this for myself! Thanks for all the responses! Jen RNY 11/29/04 352/238/ wanna be 150ish

Hiya Sphinxy, Yeah that article is very interesting. It is strange to me though, how some handle, or rather dont handle, losing the weight very well. I cant imagine the thought of binging and purging and I cant imagine crying if I gain a lb. Then again, I couldn't ever have imagined losing 86 lbs in 6 months either, lol. I guess I have no idea how I will be once I hit goal and then try to maintain. I guess I should start praying about that now! Thanks for the link! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

Topic: RE: Who has joined Curves?
I have no personal experience with Curves, I am a member of Omni Gym and its 40$ a mnth. That sounds about average for most gyms. The reason I am responding is due to what info I could get from my best friend about her Curves experience. I was under the impression its a great place to go if you want a quick in/out 30 min routine, follow the numbers don't think. I am in no way putting down, or saying those of you whom are members and enjoy it "don't think". I simply get the impression its a place to go and not have to worry about what you should and shouldn't do, but simply follow the program. For busy individuals with not much time this is great. My friend felt she was restricted and could not do extra work on any one area, because you move from station to station in specific time intervals. Are all Curves facilities like this, or are some different? I would suggest learning the "routine" from someone who goes to curves, then joining a larger full service gym and incorporating the "routine" into your work out. Seems you would have more flexability with time of day to go, and amount of time in each area etc. Most gyms have "programs" similair to curves, groups you can join, or trainers (included in the fee) to help you make a routine specific to you. Good Luck. I just thought you might want to think long term, if at a later date you want more options and are tied into a contract. Michelle

VERY SOON I WILL BE IN THE ONDERFULS!!!! YEAH!!! SARA 308/290/208/150 (getting closer all the time)

I am stuck at 70#, I started at 297, but I feel great and am trying hard not to stress it. Believe in your own individual success. 82# is fantastic....

Susan, I know what you mean. After losing weight the hubby can reach areas that he never could before and it's great! Of course, he seems to think that he has been the one to GROW rather than me shrinking. Ah, well...it's all about the ego! Keep having fun and I hope the relationship is better this time around. Woo-hoo! You go girl! Shopping, that is! I'm almost at a 14, maybe next month! I'm laughing at your 11 year old pants because most of what I am fitting into now is at least 6 years old (before my son was born). I'm going to tell myself it's retro! Take care and enjoy that feeling! Carey 243/163/130
