Topic: RE: Getting worried...am I behind?
You shouldn't be worried! I had Lap RNY on 11/29/04 and have lost just about 80lbs. My weight loss is slowing down, it takes about 4-6 weeks for me to loose 10lbs. Just remember it is still coming off, slowly but surely! Good luck!

WTG!! You are inspiring me! I can only hope to get to your time by summers end. Any advice? Should I run first then walk, I did it backwards last time. I think a big mistake. I did my first last week and am doing my 2nd in 2 weeks. I am quite a bit slower - 46:34. But then again I am still over 200(219) so I will only get better.

Hiya, I ran my first 5K this morning - a memorial run for a firefighter who died on 9/11. I am happy with what I did - I finished it in 34.30. A little slower than my normal 33.30 but I usually run on a flat track and this was in a neighborhood with some inclines. Plus a 5K is slightly more than the 3 miles I usually do at the track. So that being said I am more than happy with my time. I had set out to do it in under 35 minutes and I did - yay me! LOL God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea 223/137/123

Topic: RE: PCO and new regularity?
Wow! Congrats! I have severe PCOS and it caused major infertility for me and my husband. We now have two children, but the price was expensive emotionally and financially. I didn't have a period for more than 5 years unless it was medically created and I did get my period in the hospital after surgery if you can believe that. It has since happened, but I have not regulated yet, but my surgeon said most regular women aren't regular the year after, but I sure would like to be normal again! You are doing great! Topic: RE: Realistic Goals....
Thanks for posting the article here. It was very good. As for my answers, here they are: 1. ME ! well me and my SO. I wanted to get to 170lbs (where I was when I started high school - yep always been overweight!). He doesnt want me below 190. My surgeon has not talked with me about goal weight yet and since I am still about 85lbs from being under 200, I guess that is not such a bad thing. My SO and I decided to compromise, my goal as of right now is 180. It may change or I may be satisfied at a higher weight. Not sure yet. 2. I will be satisfied if I can get to within 10lbs of my goal weight. I will still be about 40 - 45lbs overweight from "ideal" for my height but I have a very large frame and don't want bones sticking out. 3. I actually do not know the answer to that question. Although my surgeon did say he would do the surgery LAP (and did) but in rare cases has to resort to Open. Lise 11/29/04 409/285/180

Topic: RE: Realistic Goals....
Hiya B, Good questions!! 1. I set my goal based upon some various weight/height chart things. A few months ago I asked my surgeon what he thought my goal should be and he asked what I thought, lol. I told him 125 and he said although that was a possibility, he didnt think I would reach that without having skin removed. He didnt think I would be able to get below 130 without the plastic surgery. I disagreed, lol. Right now, at 6 months out I am hovering at 137. I have no doubt that I will lose more, I am sure 15 lbs is not a stretch. I am also sure it will be much harder than the last 15 lbs I lost. 2. That being said about my goal, even if I do not lose another lb I am happy with where I am and how far I have come and how healthy I feel. 3. I do not believe my surgeon tailored my surgery in any particular way, although I am not certain, this was not discussed. I wanted to lose about 100 lbs and so far I have lost 85. Again, good questions!!! Thanks! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea 223/137/123

Sorry to hear your daughter is having a difficult time with your weight loss, but it sounds to me like she may be a little bit jealous of all the attention you are getting??? She has had you in her life for all those years and you were just "fat mom" NOW you have lost 90 pds and I'm sure look fabulous and she doesn't know what to do...So she resorts back to were she felt most comfortable with you...know what I mean? I have a girl at work that is very negative to me about my weight loss and I have chosen to ingnore her. All the others have been more that supportive and I refuse to let one person bring me down!!! Stay positve and sooner or later she'll come around....I'm sure this is just as hard for her as it is for you. Good Luck... Karry 311/189/167 goal

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think everyone has good points she probable is going through alot of stuff. But it is still not acceptable to talk to me that way. We had problems before I lost weight. She seems very angry probable about other issues in her life. Yes, she knows I will always love her. I have not talked to her since the argument she has left the house probable to her boyfriends. I went to my support meeting tonight and that helped get back on focus. It's hard to believe I have actually lost 90 pounds. I have to double check myself because I am not used to it. Thanks for all your support and prayers, You guys are great!!
