1. Have lost a total of 110 since surgery (began weighing 285 and currently weigh 175)
2. Have no idea...can't find my calculator so please...tell me.
3. Exercising...I love exercising now. I could be the poster child for exercising and it feels great .
4. Haven't lost job, a few friends are acting weird as I've always been the "fat" friend and now that I'm getting smaller I have noticed a difference in attitudes, and have gotten more attention from men than I can handle .
5. Run! I love jogging and being able to do laps at a time without passing out.

I agree I think it also matters how high you start. I started at 321 on surgery day and just cracked 209 but I have more to lose.
If you look at it percentage wise you are irght in there with the best of them!
Good luck!

1. How much have you lost since your highest weight?
---Highest weight was 245, I currently weigh 159 so 86lbs!
2. What percentage of your excess weight have you lost? (total lost / # of lbs to lose x 100)?
---80%, I have 23lbs to surgeon's goal
3. What is one major behavioral change you have made since surgery? (and intend to keep as a lifelong habit)?
---I exercise which I always hated and I exert willpower, most of the time
4. Have you lost a job, long-time friend, significant other since surgery??
---People look at me and treat me differently. I haven't lost any friends, but a few of the friendships have changed.
5. What is the funnest thing you can do now that you couldn't do before surgery??
---fit my children in my lap without worrying that they will fall off and being able to finally cross my legs.
Great Poll

Topic: RE: How much?
Hi surgery twin,
I had my surgery on 11/22 also and am 46 yrs old. I've lost -96 lbs since surgery and 126lbs from my highest weight. So I'm lost a little more than you, so what? Don't compare yourself to others, this is about how YOU feel... and don't you feel better? I thought so.
I started out at a higher weight than you, you weigh less than me now...but we are the same height. So where would we possibly even consider it "even" to start, just cause we are the same height?
I think how much, how fast is how heavy you are to start, how active you are, how much you drink/eat/sleep. We both had different co-morbidities coming into this also, I'm sure.
Each of our metabolism's work a little different.
Do we eat the same things? probably not, drink the same things, maybe - maybe not. Do the same protein supplements/vitamins/ or sleep/dress/ the same.. probably not. Everone of us is a UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL!
Well this isn't a slam post, it's a FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOU POST, you have done so well for YOU!
Have a great day!
hugs and prayers,
Topic: RE: Has any one here had the lap band
Hey Eva,
I have a band too! I don't think there's many of us on here and I was just about to post a heads up for November banders when I signed on and saw your post! Great minds, huh?
I have had a most tumultuous journey so far! I have a VG and I just now have real restriction. I'm not even sure I have it since I'm still on liquids, but I'm feeling things I've never felt before! lol
I've lost about 50...far less than many RNYers, the same as some but I don't regret getting a band at all. I've had a lot of complications while inconvenient and scary at times were never life threatening in any way whatsoever. I know I wouldn't be able to say that if I had been bypassed and ran into problems.
ONLY 30 lbs. Hmmm. How many pounds would you have lost without the band? Or, rather, how many pounds would both of us have gained by now? Besides, band goals are 1-2 lbs a week....I'm thinkin' you're where you should be
So go get yourself a smaller fill (note: I was overfilled visit before last, he took 1 cc out, I came back 3 weeks later, got a 1.5 cc fill and now I'm ok!) Stay on the food plan, no liquids before/after eating, protein first!
You are doing just fine, please don't kick yourself ok? This process is extraordinarily hard as it is.
I would like to stay in touch, please keep posting and I'll try to do the same..... its very hard sometimes to read bypass posts and know that the loss is so much faster (remember the turtle and the hare? ha!) lol.......jk, but we all do tend to even out a couple years out.
talk to you soon!
