It really is scary! I have an appointment Monday for a consult. Hernias are no fun. My Mom just had her 3rd repaired a few weeks ago. Wish you well!

Hey woman... good to see you!!!
Get thee to a doctor to get some labs drawn pronto!!!!! Nothing to play around with.. I waited and almost didn't make it as a result... so anemic it took 4 units of blood to pump me up and I was still considered anemic when they discharged me from the hospital!!!
I waited because of money as well... I'm lucky to be here to talk about it. Even the nurse in the ER said she had never in 23 years seen levels as low as mine in somebody walking and talking.

No surgery... am really afraid to go under the knife again... was petrified the first time... and was terrified of not living through it... not sure I want to go through that for cosmetic reasons?? and yet, I have a hernia that must be repaired... so they tell me I gotta go under sooner or later!

Do you really remember......
What you looked like before surgery??? Take out those before pictures and give yourself a pat on the back for making a bold move towards longer life!!! I was shocked when I looked at my presurgical picture at the doctors office!!!! DAYYYYYM!
How much you really ate before surgery??? Go out to dinner with one of your old favorite eating buddies and have dinner - see if they can tell you, or if you can truly remember. I can remember having appetizers, dinner, desert and drinks... without a pause. Now I take home a doggie bag most places I go.
How big your clothes really were??? Did you save at least one pair of pant for that two legs in one pants leg of your favorite pants shot??? Now's the time guys... take a long look.... we don't ever want to go back there right???
How you felt moving around in the world and how people treated you??? Take a long hard look at the next morbidly obese person you see tomorrow in public... watch how that person is moving... does it look painful? I remember the pain well! Watch how the cashier, the man walking by and other people treat him/her. It is amazing how invisible the obese are, and how we don't sometimes even look eye to eye. Observe their posture and yours now... any differences? I find I hold my head a lot higher and am a lot more bold now... I complain when I think something is wrong and I refuse what I don't want... didn't do that quite so often as an SMO (super morbidly obese) person.
What it felt like to run?? I couldn't when I was at my highest... did you?
Anyway, this is no Aprils Fools Joke... Your life has changed dramatically - time to take stock and celebrate!!!

Hey Guys,
Can I join? I have really gotten off track too. I have been gaining and losing the same 6-8 pounds this month. My eating has been bad too, so starting tomorrow no carbs... can I still have oatmeal in the morning with splenda and 1% milk? I hope so, I look forward to it. Thanks so much..

Hi Cathy!
I have my days. I will send the meal planning sheet to your email address. Let me know when you get it! I do good with the supplement part, but I tend to eat a few too many carbs at night. It's all fat free or low fat stuff, but it mostly carbs. Hope it helps you, it does me. My nutritionist gave it to me. I go see them again in May. Let me know if I can help ya!

Hey M. Frank,
I was just reading your post and would like to request if you could send me your meal planning sheet. I too have been having some problems with getting off track, with the right foods and with taking my supplements. I would really appreciate it. Any help would be good. Thanks in advance.

Donna,
You need to have a good proof of problems caused by hanging skin for your insurance. Keep track of all rashes, etc. and have it all documented. The plastic surgery forum is a better source for all the information.
I was self pay, but it was worth every penny of it. 8 lb of skin was removed from my TT and BL, and I love the way I look.
