Topic: RE: Severe joint pain Post - op???
Thanks everyone for your resonses. I insisted they do my blood work again and low and behold it came back abnormal, possibly indicating Lupus, fibromyalgia ect. So, anyway I see the Neurologist Monday and the Rheumatologist next Friday. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!

Topic: A silly distinction but WOO HOO
Anyone else but the folks here would think I was nuts, but as of yesterday my BMI is no longer in the "morbidly obese" range!!! WOWIE!!!
The last time I weighed this little was well over 20 years ago. I have a waist and a collar bone...
True, I have a ways to go and I am by no means thin or even "average", but I am NO LONGER MORBIDLY OBESE.
Not only that, but I can wear heels again and even dance in them!!
Hugs to all of you...Jo

Do you go on the band board under communities...lots of help there.
Also, there is a yahoo groups for bandsters that has lots of activity.
I know this because my docs do the band as well and there are several in my support group.
Good luck to you!

Topic: RE: I'm I doing something wrong?
Ignore it...keep moving forward. You're doing fantastically well.
I have just come out of an almost two month plateau and even though the scale showed no changes, my body was changing anyway...people noticed it.
One pound gained is not a weight gain...it is normal fluctuation.
I stayed the same for nearly two months and suddenly have dropped 7 pounds. It just goes like that. Slows down as time goes by.
Just keep doing good...exercise helps.

Topic: I'm I doing something wrong?
I weigh myself once a week and I don't do it at home because I get crazy with the scales anyway last week I weighed myself I lost 7 pounds which makes 96 pounds I was so excited, but this week I weighed myself and I gained 1 pound what is up with that am I doing something wrong? I did start my period on Sunday but I've never gained. Sometimes I would only lose 1 pound but NEVER NEVER did I gain.
Any suggestions I think I'm eating the same I don't think nothing has changed. HELP

Hi! I have really enjoyed reading everyones progress! Great idea B!
1. How much have you lost since your highest weight? 59 pounds. 224 highest last June, 207.5 day of surgery, 165 today.
2. What percentage of your excess weight have you lost? (total lost / # of lbs to lose x 100)? I think it's about 62%
3. What is one major behavioral change you have made since surgery? (and intend to keep as a lifelong habit)? Thinking about things other than food...like shopping and having fun.
4. Have you lost a job, long-time friend, significant other since surgery?? My sister won't speak to me. It might be a jealousy thing but I miss her. I'm not suppose to talk about weight loss or what foods I eat so she stopped talking to me altogether.
5. What is the funnest thing you can do now that you couldn't do before surgery?? I did a handstand the other day when noone was looking!
Topic: RE: How much do you eat now?
Hi All
First thing: protein drink (whey, low carb)
Breakfast: 4 oz sf low carb yogurt and some fruit (small nectarine or 1/2 apple, etc.)
Snack: protein drink (whey low carb)
Lunch: 4-5 oz low fat chili w meat, pickles or salad
Dinner: 2 chicken drumsticks bbq w low carb sauce, veggies from veggie soup with 1 stick lowfat mozz melted in it (yum)
Snack: 94% fat free butter flavor popcorn and sf popsicles
More some days, about 800-1200 calories, 100 gm protein, 50-100 carbs, 25-30 gms fat. Lots of water, disolvable B-12, 4 chewable vitamins.
But hey, I've been on a 2 1/2 mo. plateau I think I'm just now busting out of.
You guys are all doing GREAT!!!!!

Hi Dru,
There is something called fibromyalgia you might want to check into. Some of the symptoms are extreme tiredness, muscle aches and pain, headaches, etc. I learned about this while researching medication my neurologist wants me to take for my neuropathy.
I hope you start feeling better soon!
Sincerely, Julie
