Topic: RE: Do you guys eat normall food
Hi Kay, Congrats on your weight loss! Yes, I eat normal foods but I still pay attention to what I am eating. I eat protein first, then veggies, then fruit then carbs (in that order of whatever I'm eating). I try to eat healthy meat and veggies and I try and avoid white carbs; I do whole grain as it is healthier and has more fiber (which with all that meat, I need my fiber since my veggie intake has decreased!). It has taken me a while to get to the 'normal' food area and now I don't feel as self-conscious when I eat out ( I'll order an appetizer or ask for a to-go box when ordering). I've also learned to make more protein-vegetarian items that even my family eats Hope this helps! Jennifer

The cottage cheese test is where you measure out a portion of CC, then eat what you can (at a steady pace****il you feel full or for 15 minutes, then remeasure the remaining CC and figure out the difference of the amounts. This difference will tell you the size of your pouch. EX: I measured out 8 oz of CC, I had a remainder of 3 oz, so my pouch intake is 5 oz. Hope this helps!

Darla, It sounds to me like your not eating enough and that's why your not losing. If you only eat 700-1000 calories, you body is trying to store them because it is going into starvation mode. Try to up your caloric intake eating primarily protein and you will notice the weight start to come off again. Make sure you drink your water and see what happens. I eat 1200-16000 calories a day and am losing 2 lbs. a week. I only have 6 lbs. to make goal. Give it a try and enjoy the extra food!

OH MY! You totally read my mind Sharon! The other day I finished an entire Lean Cuisine. It was the Beef and mushroom w/mash. Still, I ate the whole thing. I was horrified afterwards because I wasn't even stuffed. Anyway, I kinda freaked out and thouth about doing the cottage cheese test, but then I got a grip. That was the first time that has happened, and I've really noticed that my portions aren't that big. Usually, I can only eat about 3/4 cup of food at the very most. I think you and I need to calm down and not beat ourselves up! Our stomachs are going to get bigger over the next year, so we'll continually be able to increase our intake. And, like someone already said, a LC isn't really a big meal. I would have been STARVING after eating an entire LC before I had the surgery! Tish

I had my surgery Nov 10th. I've lost 80 lbs as of today. I stepped on the scale and finally after 2 weeks, I've lost 2 lbs. My doctor would like me to lose 22 more lbs. The last few lbs are always the hardest to lose. I'm so happy with the progress I've made so far that my attitude is when the rest comes off it does. It didn't jump on me over night. So I just go about my life doing what I do. Low carbs, avoid sugar and high fatty foods. No carbonation. Exercise, water and protein. Not much else I can do. So when I get days like today when I see a 2 lb loss I'm pleasantly surprised. As for being more hungry these days. Some days I'm fine but like you I have those days that I feel like I'm always hungry. When I am, I just eat a piece of fruit, or cheese stick. It usually holds me over until my next meal. Be patient, the rest will come off. I know it's real hard. I feel your pain. Just try to enjoy the success you've had so far. When was the last time you lost 74 lbs in less than 7 months? Good luck and God bless, ~Angel 255/222/142/118
