Topic: 7 months update !!! :jump:
Hi all,
well i feel like a dork ! I have been on the sites for awhile now, but not on the nov. 2004 site ..... duh !
This is where i belong . I had my open rny in nov. of 04, i now have pics on my site check it out.
I think i have done ok on my weight loss I started out at 203 and now am down to 153.
I bounce back to 155-156 then back down. I have had my share of weight stalling that is for sure .I try to remind myself first of all i didn't have a huge amount to lose.
I hope to see 130 by nov. 22nd of 05 time will tell. I eat whatever i want in moderation. I try to due protein first . I have no problem with my shakes , and love to eat any kind of fruits .
I consider myself extreamly blessed thru all of this I have had no problems at all .
Thanks for the updates on all messages.

Topic: I can't believe this!
Since having my surgery I have thrown up twice and the last time was at about 4 months post op. Well tonight I ate a couple bites of grilled chicken breast in low carb bbq sauce and I just suddenly knew something was wrong. I then went into the bathroom and threw up 4 times! Now what is up with that? I eat chicken breast all the time, practically every day. I think my first bite might have been too big and got stuck and then every other bite just piled on top of it. It was such a relief when I finally puked! I think sometimes I forget I had surgery because I feel so "normal" so I forget to chew chew chew. Anyone else ever do that? That was about an hour and a half ago and I just ate a string cheese stick because my tummy was a little hungry since I threw up my entire dinner. The cheese stayed down fine. Oh well, I'll chew better next time!

Topic: RE: My second 5K race
Hiya George,
I am thinking that previously, you and I would probably got in a fight to see was first at the buffet line after running to it!
I started running in March, prior to that I was doing the elliptical for 30 minutes 3 - 4 days per week. I started doing the elliptical back in December at 10 minutes and I wanted to cry!!! I increased 1 minute per day till I reached 15 minutes and stayed there a few days, then increased 1 minuted a day till I got to 20 and stayed there for a few weeks, then I increased to 25 and then 30 minutes. When I started running mid March it took me 30 minutes to go 2 miles. I started running at the track at the high school. After running the 2 miles for about a month I increased 2 laps. Then 2 weeks later I increased another lap, then a week later the last lap to make 3 miles. At that time I was doing 3 miles in probably 35 minutes. I guess I am just telling you all this to show that it can be done!! LOL If I can do it, anyone can! Back before the sugery I walked 1.5 miles in 30 minutes. Now I usually run 4 miles in 43-44 minutes. The best thing we can do is just go very slow, and then as we can tolerate it, slowly build up endurance (how far we go) and speed. The key is to do it slowly. We wont help anyone, least of all oursleves, if we get an injury. So, anyway, I know you can do the 5K by November - I know it! Keep us posted on how your training is going!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea

ANDREA CONGRATS ON YOUR FINISHING LET ALONE YOUR IMPROVED TIME
I AM CURENTLY TRAINING FOR A 5K IN NOVEMBER. THE LAST TIME I RAN ANYWHERE WAS PROABLY TO BE FIRST AT A BUFFET (LOL). I SEE THAT WE SHARE THE SAME SURGERY DATE. I AM ABLE TO JOG ABOUT A 1/2 MILE AT A TIME WITH NO PROMLEM AS I WAS WALKING 5 MILES A DAY, I AM DETERMINED TO DO THIS COME HELL OR HIGH WATER. WISHING YOU THE BEST OF LUCK IN ALL THAT YOU DO, AND REMEMBER

Topic: RE: How Many Are Feeling Like This
Hi April at least it looks like you have the ball rolling. My surgeon told me he wanted me to wait unitl I am at least a minimum of 1yr out before considering a tummy tuck. I am just so tired of the rashes, and I think the pressure from the fallen skin is pressing on my bladder causing incontinenc. I tell my husband I will be his skinny bald wife in diaper soon
. He did say however that I could have my breast done anytime as they did not go down as much as expected and are giving me a lot of pain now. Anyhow glad I'm not alone. Take care KatherineL

Topic: My second 5K race
Hi all,
I ran my second 5K race this morning and I did wonderfully! I finished in 29:55 seconds averaging 9:39 per mile. That is a major all time best for me. I usually average 11:00 per mile, but that is with hills and the course the race was on today was completely flat. In my first 5K I ran back on May 21 I finished in 34:33 averaging 11:07 per mile so I have improved greatly over the past month and a half. I am excited and looking forward to my next race. I hope to increase my training runs to 5 miles (doing 4 now) as I want to run in a 5 mile race on September 10. Anyone else doing any racing? How is everyone's exercise regimine going?
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea

Topic: RE: Frustrated
Hiya Sandy,
I agree with what Theresa said about the stall. It seems we are all experiencing it. I dont think I lost a pound at all from mid May to mid June. I think I might have picked up my weight loss again as I am down about 4 lbs in the past 2 - 3 weeks. I did increase my calorie intake (not because of the stall in weight loss but this is where my body is leading me) and I eat around 1200 calories per day. I also exercise quite a bit now - I run 4 miles 3 - 4 days per week.
About the hair loss, mine started falling out in the beginning of March and it started slowing down in June. I think it is much more normal now. Also, I can see regrowth too, which is encouraging. My surgeon had recommended Zinc tabs (50 mgs I think) but they irritated my pouch in a big way so I stopped. It did seem to help though so if your pouch can tolerate it, that might be a way to go.
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
Topic: RE: Frustrated
Thank you all so much for replying to my frustration. It is a big help to share and know others are having similar problems. It was so helpful to hear that others stall with weight loss about this time. I guess I still have failure in my thoughts after so many failed diets I get afraid the weight loss will stop. Thanks again, Hugs to all Sandyd
