I understand, reading and talking to others this is normal. Thus far I have losted 87 pounds and I am stuck. So I am trying to take in more protein and keep moving. Weight isn't changing but my body is-so we take what we can get . I still have another 145 pounds to go to reach my goal. Hope you day is good and that this encourages you.

HI Leighann,
You could also have had trouble with the bbq sauce. I have not dumped, but recently had bbq sauce on a rib. I had violent pains for about an hour. Of course it was called Sweet Baby Ray's!! What was I thinking?

Andrea, I just had to say that you are doing awsome! 6 more lbs to go is great. I am currently 19 lbs from my surgeon's goal and 21 from mine. It really is a good feeling. I've been so use to saying that I need to lose 100+ that I never really thought I'd say I only need to 19 more.
Life is wonderful. Congrats to you on your success as well!

Hiya Donna,
Congratulations on making goal!!! WAY TO GO!!!
I am right behind ya!! I have 6 pounds to lose to make my goal, although technically I already surpassed my surgeon's goal. He said I wouldnt be able to get below 130 without plastic surgery and here I am at 129!! lol Well I am hoping to lose these next 6 pounds within a month or month and a half but it has been very slow going for me lately so we shall see.
I am glad to hear your knees are feeling better!! I know how that is. I didnt have arthritic knees but mine were getting very painfull from the added weight. I have been feeling great and have taken up running. I am up to 4 miles 3 - 4 days per week now and I just did my second 5K yesterday and I finished in 29:55 which is a major personal best.
God bless you and keep you

Topic: Reached my goal!
As of this past week, I've made my goal! I'm down 86.8 pounds & I've gone from a size 20 to a size 12. I just told my husband last night, that I KNOW I am TRULY BLESSED to have been able to have WLS. I was a private pay patient, and I know that there are so many others who would love to have the surgery, but can't afford it. My main motivation for having the surgery was arthritic knees which were continuing to decline (from a bad fall) at a rate I couldn't keep up with. Now, I can trot up & down stairs (most days) which had become my enemy. I've been AWOL from this Web site due to moving from AL to VA in May, but I'm hoping to be back on a regular basis now. I hope that everyone has a wonderful week!

Morning Trish! I'm "new" here too. I've been AWOL from this Web site for months now - but I'm back. So, I hope to see you here each week. Like you, I didn't have as much to lose as a lot of patients. I made my goal as of this past week - down 86.8 pounds! Best of luck to you, hon!

Hiya Trish,
Glad you joined us here. You are looking good! I too consider myself blessed by this surgery. I have had no complications (well I did lose tons of hair, but that has stopped and I am getting new growth in) and I am SOOOO much healthier than I was!
Come back and post often!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea

Hiya Leighann,
I am sorry you went through that. I guess taking small bites and chewing thoroughly will be something we will always have to do. I am glad you are feeling better now!
God bless you and keep you,
