Hi Sandra, Cograts to you for figuring it up and getting your body moving everyday!! I started working out at a gym as soon I was allowed to after surgery!! I love it!! My weight loss have slowed alomost to nil....but everymonth one number drops consistently and that's my body fat %!! So although I still fret about the weight at least I know I am eating right and exercising....doing everything I should be doing. I have 13 lbs to go for my PCP's goal and 20 to go for my personal goal!! I'll just keep plugging along and hopefully my weight will slowly fall off!! ~Summer 240/166/146-153

I got up yesterday and went straight to Curves for my workout. Had 40 oz of water between 8-10:30 a.m. Got home and had a low carb wrap with a couple of oz of steak and some cheese, salsa and fat free sour cream. Snack -- 5 wheat thins and a slice of 2% cheese! Fixed a quiche for dinner with sausage, eggs, fat free milk and cheese. Had 1 piece early and another one later in the evening. Minus the crust! CAN YOU TELL I LOVE CHEESE!!!!!! I had total of 4 bottles of water = 80 oz 2 glasses of tea = 16 oz 2 Viactive vitamins and 2 estroven calcium gum. Not sure about calories... but I don't think it was a whole lot. I know cheese has a lot of calories but I get the 2 % and I love it!!!! I had some leftover quiche today and tonight I am going to fix grilled chicken with green beans! mmmmm Hope ya'lls weekend went well! Jen

Okay November Babies...I peak over here daily and its way too quiet. On the main board they usually do a what did you eat today, I didnt see it last nihgt....mind you I never answer it, but I like reading it. I will tell you what I ate today though....if you will share as well I work 3rd shift, and sleep during the day, so your dinner time is my breakfast time....keep that in mind: 8pm wake up - 16oz crystal light peach tea, 2 solgar iron 930pm Breakfast - 2 pieces wheat fiber toast with SF jam 1030pm through 3am - 24oz peach tea, 16 oz decaf coffee w/ crm, 10oz welch low sugar juice 330am lunch- south beach ceasar wrap (all of it/both wraps) 530am - 16oz decaf coffee w/ crm off work 8am - I will have an AchievOne Cappucinno 9oz on the ride to the gym, and a bottle of peach tea 16 oz at the gym = will do 30 tread mill and 30 elliptical For my dinner around 11am I will probabbly have 4oz of chicken and gravy on a garlic low carb wrap with some shredded cheeze. total calories = aprox 850 total protein = approx 80 fluids = 100+ oz took all my vitamins earlier *********** Up untill about 4 weeks ago I was not eatting any pasta, rice, bread, chips etc. But I added in wheat fiber bread, and low carb wraps. At first because I needed fiber, now its because it fills me up and I seem to need more than dairy and cheese to feel full. Yes I am still controlling/counting calories....I keep it under 1000. It works for me, for now. Michelle 324/189/150-160ish P.S Havent heard from Spinxy in awhile, no posts and no response when I emailed her, anyone know how she is doing?

Topic: RE: Hi
Good for you DJ....way to go. Dr. Terry Simpson MD has a new book out. He is a weight loss surgeon in Az with a very big practice. The book is named, "Losing the Last 30 lbs". He talks at the obesityhelp.com conferences all over the U.S. His web site is obesitydr.com just add www. first. ok Actually he has 4-5 wonderful weight loss books out he has written. He is not my Dr. since my insurance pd only for another Dr. in Phx...Dr. Fang....I love Dr. Fang, too, but Dr. Simpson is alot more involved with his practice in that he speaks to obesity conferences and writes book. I have not seen his new book, but I am buying 8 of them for my weight loss group in Tucson, as a group order. Sandy in Tucson 340/222/150 P>S> Also, my new goal is to walk in a 13 mile 1/2 marathon in Jan. in Phx, called the PF Chang marathon. I can not run so they let people walk the 1/2 marathon but you got to do it in 4 hrs or less. I feel that is exciting . Moving from near disabled to walking a 1/2 marathon in 4 hrs or less in 14 months time. I will be 14 months post op when the marathon happens.

I have noticed not many have replied to this post I made. Does it strike home? Does it make one think? I feel it is the truth and you are living proof of what can happen through diet control and excercise that gets your heart rate up. It is more difficult when you are 55, diabetic and hurt all over. But, I am still plugging along. Determination is my mind set. I made some new goals for myself yesterday. Less stepping on the scale and being upset all day...and more walking in my program for weight loss. There is is a 1/2 marathon here in Az-Phx, actually in Jan. PFChang marathon.....since I can not run I am am going to walk the 1/2 marathon in 4 hours or less, it is 13 miles. So, that is the goal now to get to the marathon and do it in 4 hrs or less and not pass out doing it. I am walking now 4 miles every other day and doing water aerobics. I have 6 months to accomplish the goal of walking in the marathon. The weight will have to move with that much walking getting ready for the marathon. So, basically I re-set my goals and it is not centered around the scales. I hope it works. Sandy in Tucson

Hiya Sandra, I know exactly what you mean. Some people seem to think its a quick fix and then thats it, what you end up with is what you get. I knew from early on though, even before surgery, after reading so many profiles and messages on here that I was going to have to work very hard and make some extreme lifestyle changes - and not just what I put in my mouth. I got an elliptical machine and I started using that in December 2004 - just 10 minutes the first day. Then, doing it 3-4 times per week I added a minute each day I did it until I got to 20 minutes. I hovered there for a few weeks and then I added 5 more minutes and a few weeks after that I added another 5 to get me up to 30 minutes. Then in March 2005 I started jogging. I was very very slow (my hubby could walk next to me as I jogged) I jogged for 30 minutes and got about 2 miles. As I continued I got to where I could do about 3 miles on the track in 34 minutes. I entered my first 5K in May and I finished in 34:33 which was 11:07 per mile. I ran my second 5K on 7/9 and finished in 29:33 which I think was 9:39 per mile. I now run 4 miles per day 4 days a week. When the weather is bad I have my elliptical. So yeah.... I know where you are coming from when you talk about exercise. It has definitely kept me losing, although slowly now. I am now 4 lbs from my personal goal (I am 3 lbs under what my surgeon thought I could get to) and I am feeling SOO great. I am healthy!!! I never really thought it would happen, but thanks to my Lord, it has. He has used this surgery to motivate me and get me healthy. God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea 223/127/123

I meant to reply to this last week, but guess now is good too I am down 103lbs and only have 15-25lbs more to go to my ideal goal. I only need to lose 15 more to get into my ideal body weight BMI range, but 25 more to get in the mid-range I am sooo excited about it and am very confident that I make goal by my 1 year anniversary!! I have exercised very occasionally off and on since surgery, so thinking the addition of an exercise program will get the weight off pretty quickly. I am slowing down to about 7lbs a month right now, but it is still better than I was doing on any diet I have tried in the past. The excess skin is starting to annoy me, but that will come off in time! LOL Glad to see everyone is doing so well! I feel like my old self again Wow moments: Hubby has carried me over every threshold in the house!! LOL I had never in my life been carried over a threshold of anything, so this is HUGE to me!! I GREW an inch since having surgery!! I am now 5'3", which is soooo amazing!! Erica 258/155/130-140ish
