Topic: RE: GOAL!!!
Congratulations!!!
I am proud of you. You have come along way. Running five miles a day is an accomplishment. I don't even do that. I go to the gym and ride my bicycle all the time. I am happy for you for reaching your goal. Keep up the good work!

Anyone doing this type of exercise to tone, etc? And if you are, how's it going? Do you like it or not?
Topic: GOAL!!!
WOW - I cant believe I did it!! I reached my goal!! I have lost 100 lbs in 10 months and 12 days. I am so thankfull to the Lord for this surgery - it has helped me to become a very healthy woman - no more cholesterol worries, no more diabetes worries, no more blood pressure worries. Who would have thought that I would be healthy and fit and running 5 miles a day??? Not me, not really. I thought I would be someone that it didnt work for, or someone who didnt use the tool properly. I guess I got so used to failing in diets that I just figured I would fail at this one too - but here I am - living proof!!
Thanks for letting me share my wonderful news!!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea

Topic: RE: How much have you lost??
Hi Carrie,
I had my surgery last November as well and of today have lost 135 pounds. Started at 358 and now 223. I do hope I continue to lose. I fear from day to day it will stop. But I guess if I never lose another pound I am better off today than I was a year ago at this time. You say only 80 pounds you've lost, well that is allot of weight. Think of putting 80 pounds on your back and try carrying it around again? Pretty scarry huh !!! My weight loss slowed down too, and when I started to get my supplements regulated right I started losing again.I still can only eat about 6-8 ounces at a meal, and I still cannot tolerate greasy or sugary foods. Keep getting in that protein, and water, change up your excerise routine..you'll start losing again....Brenda Brock

Hi Andrea!
Thank you!
The one's I took at the conference are ughhlyy of me.. well at least the couple that were on my camers. I am NOT photogenic at all, (sucks). My face to me looks really old, but the body isn't half bad
But a whole lot of people took my pic, so who knows what will come from their camera's, or I'll have my son do a photo shoot
and have Dr. C office send me copies of the new ones. I had my camera in my pocket while running around at the conference ( i didn't sit, i was working there. my job.. meet and greet basically) and the setting got change
and I lost a lot of photo's! anyways, I am going to work on the new pic's very soon. And a FRIEND picked on my baggy drawers, I told her hey don't pick on my size 12 tyvm.
I will keep it up, I am and will continue to work very hard for my goal, as for the 1st time in my life.. I am almost normal (well body-wise
)
Thank you again!
hugs,
p/s I know, I know, I shouldn't have rattled on, I'm just supposed to say THANK YOU.. but the weekend had SO MANY good moments!

Topic: RE: Hernia!
Hey Stacy! I'm so sorry to hear you have developed not one but two hernias. Mine was the entire length of the incision but we didn't realize that until he opened me up. My scar was wide too, it opened up in two places after gastric bypass. But it will look better now that he has restitched it. I wasn't having any major symptoms. I could just tell it was getting bigger over time and some days it would give me discomfort. I really noticed it after my vacation and I decided to go ahead and do something about it. And I'm glad I did, the surgeon told my mother after I had surgery that he didn't know how I wasn't in constant pain. I mean it was my whole large intestine that had broken through. I kinda figured I had a hernia around 5 months out. I wasn't having any major pain but I figured I'd go ahead and take care of it before it got out of control. Even though I'm only 3 days postop I can already tell my stomach is tighter and flatter. He put a plastic mesh screen thing in my stomach. Hopefully another one won't come about. Thats the best method he said to prevent reoccurence. I just won't be able to lift anything over 5 pounds for a long while. It hurts so much to cough right now but I'm starting to get around a little better. Pain meds are my best friends right now!! Hopefully he will take out the drainage tube tomorrow, I'm so sick of that thing.
