11 month check in.....
1. What complications have you experienced as a result of surgery?
I had a stricture at 5 weeks post op, but nothing else. It was a quick and easy fix. I don't dump on anything.
2. How much weight have you lost total (from your highest weight)?
My highest weight ever was 283lbs, so that is 142lbs. But, from surgery (258lbs) I have lost 117lbs
3. What percentage of your total weight to lose have you lost - (total weight loss/ total weight to lose x 100).... You can check the weight loss planner if you are unsure of how much you should weigh for your height.
I have lost 92% of my excess weight loss...but the surgeon said I had passed his goal when I weighed 148lbs, so 92% is according to the weight loss planner. I am right on target for 100% loss.
4. What has been your biggest loss (other than lbs) since surgery?
Well, we lost a baby last month due to a miscarriage. That has been the biggest emotional loss.
5. What has been your proudest achievement (other than lbs lost) since surgery?
My hubby picks me up all the time now. Like the "carrying my wife over the threshold" pick me up. That is probably the proudest I have ever felt since having the surgery!! Oh, and the other one was while I was at the doctor's office for a check up and waited for 20 extra minutes because the nurse kept passing by me because she didn't recognize me. Those are the two best!!
6. What is next goal (other than lbs)???
We are trying for another baby, so I guess my next goal is to gain weight LOL After so many years of being infertile, getting pg on our first attempt was amazing. Hoping we are as lucky when we try again
That's about it for me!

240/155 new goal 147
Hi fellow November friends - never posted here before (always post on the NC Board), so here goes...
1. No complications - I don't dump but sometimes wish I did so I would not be tempted! Have never even - no, not at all (except 1 day after surgery during the barium swallow test, but that doesn't count)
2. I have lost 115 lbs. to date (woo-hoo!)
3. Percent loss/goal is 89% (25 pounds to go)
4. My biggest loss - I lost that crappy consciousness that I was the biggest person in the room! Now I am the happiest person in the room!
5. Proudest achievement - I can cross my legs and do so all the time... even when I am the passenger in a car. I feel prissy for the first time in 30 years! It's the little pleasures that are the most fulfilling after WLS - like flying and having lots of room, even in the middle seat!
6. My next goal is to reach my ideal goal weight by Christmas.
Lets see...
1. What complications have you experienced as a result of surgery? No one recognizes me
2. How much weight have you lost total (from your highest weight)? 138lbs from my highest and 103lbs since surgery
3. What percentage of your total weight to lose have you lost - (total weight loss/ total weight to lose x 100).... You can check the weight loss planner if you are unsure of how much you should weigh for your height.
79%
4. What has been your biggest loss (other than lbs) since surgery? Money...have to keep buying new clothes
5. What has been your proudest achievement (other than lbs lost) since surgery? Just walked a 5K for breast cancer and didn't hardly break a sweat
6. What is next goal (other than lbs)??? To keep up the exercise and try to firm my body up as much as possible
The year has gone quickly!
1.) no complications really (in the beginning some foaming episodes, but none recently)
2.) so far I've lost 80 lbs, which I'm happy with but I want more. I have slowed down but want to focus on 'the rules' and go for more.
3.) My doctor never gave me a 'goal' weight, so if I said 150 is goal (probably not going to get there I've lost 50%) but a more realistic goal of 180 would make it 61%
4.) Loss....hmmm can't say anything (my hair is also grown back, wavy!)
5.) I could finally buckle the seat belt in my friend's car
6.) next goal. I want to break the 100 lb mark (20 lb to go) and then I would want to get under 200 lb (30 lb for that).
I've really appreciated hearing from this group of people who had surgery in November. Everyone's experiences are different, but it is reassuring seeing the process we've all gone through. Good luck to us all!
