Everybody looks so happy
I had my WLS on 11/18. on 5/13/05 I had my hip replaced. So far I have lost 80 lbs with about 30 to go. I'm a size 12.
All I can say is everyone with a new picture looks so happy which is the way I feel.
I have so much energy now I feel like the energizer bunny. Between losing weight and no more pain, I feel teriffic.
I went to a dance and men asked me to dance which never happened before. I get admiring looks LOL This was worth it.
Hiya Carol,
I too am so very happy - I am healthy and thin - I am running 5 miles a day 3 - 4 times per week. I never would have imagined I could do that for certain. Still waiting for my hubby to ask me to dance though *rolls eyes* Ah well, he never was one for dancing, lol.
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
Hiya Jason,
I didnt start out running. Back in December, I got an Elliptical machine because I had a bulging disc in my neck and any impact hurt it, and my knees and ankles and back hurt from the extra weight. I started doing 10 minutes the first day and I wanted to cry when I was doing it and when I was done. I did it 3 - 4 times per week adding a minute each time I did it. When I hit 20 minutes I stayed there for a few weeks, then jumped to 25 minutes. Then a few weeks later I jumped to 30 minutes. I stayed there for quite a while and then in March I decided to give running a try. My husband is an avid runner, so he helped me out with advice and guidance. I started out running very slowly for 30 minutes. I ran maybe 2 miles the first time. Then slowly I started adding distance - at the high school track. I added a 1/4 mile at a time waiting about 2 weeks before adding another. By the beginning of May I was running 3 miles on a regular basis. I ran my first 5k race at the end of May and I finished in 34 minutes and 30 seconds. I ran my second 5K in July and improved my time substantially finishing in 29 minutes and 55 seconds. I started adding more miles in 1/2 mile increments. I now regularly run 5 miles in under 50 minutes. My fastest 5K time has been 28 minutes and 4 seconds. So... anyway, to make a long story short, that is how I run! You can do it too if you want to, just start out slow and easy and for a specific time, not a distance, and improve from there!!
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
