Do you think this was rude?

I seriously think I'm going to complain to my hospital about a rude ultrasound tech there. I want to see what you all think and make sure I'm not overreacting because I am pregnant and very hormonal right now. Even though my hubby does think it was rude too. Anyway...I was at the hospital because I was having pain and had to get an ultrasound. Everything turned out fine. When I was about to get the ultrasound the tech asked me if I had had any major surgeries and I told her gastric bypass surgery. She acted suprised because she said said I was so young. I told her I'm 23 and she said "Wow you are only 23 and already had to have weight loss surgery. It must have taken a lot of work to get that big, that quick." I thought that was so rude! I told her actually it didn't, I have PCOS which caused me to gain a lot of my weight and then made it hard to lose. But I don't think she really cared. Then she said "Well do you have any fat pictures?" I despise the word FAT. I was called fat my whole life and even though I'm no longer fat, I still hate the word and it still stings my heart, you know what I mean? I just think that was rude too! She could of said "do you have any before pictures" or something like that. She should not of used the word fat. And by the way I didn't show her the before pi****ep in my purse just because I thought she was a b*tch! But she weighed about 105 pounds and probably never had a weight problem in her life. I could tell she's one of those people that think obese people "just need to stop eating so much." So what do you all think of those comments? Worth complaining over? They made me really mad. Good morning. I would complain because that tech was supposed to be doing a ultrasound and nothing more she was not supposed to reading the history of why you were there. A tech is supposed to take pictures and thats all. Please write or call in a complaint because she might be doing this to other patients who won't speak up for theirselves. Have a good day! sharonda

Definitely report her. Anyone working in her position should have some sensitivity towards people that she comes in contact with. She needs to get another job--some type where she can insult people and get paid for it because they want to be insulted. We have to deal with enough out in the cold, cruel world without people that we are paying to help us doing it. Hi Leighann Sounds like you handled that well...it was very rude, but you just have to forgive some people for there lack of knowledge!!
