How much have you lost??
Hiya Carrie (and everyone else)
As of today, I am 9 months and 1 week out from surgery. I have lost 99 of the 100 lbs I wanted to lose - yes thats right - just 1 lb to go to GOAL and Century Club. I cant believe it. Anyway, my weight loss has slowed significantly since the 6 or 7 month mark - I have probably only lost 15 lbs or so since May. I eat much more normal size portions although I do not eat much complex carbs - the feel very heavy in my pouch. I do exercise 4 - 5 times per week running between 3 and 5 miles each of those days. In addition to the weight loss - I have lost 65 inches from my neck, chest, waist, hips, thigh and calf - that is 4 inches more than I am tall (or should I say short, lol) If someone had told me last year that not even 10 months out of surgery this is where I would be I dont think I would have believed it - but here I am - its still unbelievable to me at times. In all my past attempts I was always the failure looking at the people who succeeded saying now why couldnt I DO that. Well here I am - a SUCCESSFULL LOSER! lol - okay enough of my rant, lol.
God bless you and keep you,
~Andrea
223/124/123 - 1 pound to GOAL
I usually eat between 1/2 and 1 cup of food at each sitting. Sometimes I just nibble enough to take the edge off my hunger. I think I probably COULD eat more food if I wanted to, but I choose not to. I supplement my diet with GNC protein powder mixed with skim milk because it gives me more protein for less calories. My exercise primarily consists of taking a stroll during my lunch hour at work.

Carrie:
I had my surgery on November 16, 2004. I have lost 92# so far. I started out at 252 # and am now 161# but have been on a plateau for the past 2 months. I do know what my problem is........first of all I haven't been exercising at all. I know if I just get started I can do it. I just don't seem to have the time to even start. The other problem is that I now have a job working at home and have temptation to graze throughout the day---chips are my downfall. I know, I know......if they weren't in the house I wouldn't be able to eat them!!!!!! I just have to get my rear in gear!!! I am happy with what I have lost thus far. I would love to get to the 100 # mark. Its just been so slow lately. I am down 5 sizes from a 22-24 to a 12 but my goal has always been not weight but size. I want to be in a size 10. Hopefully that will be coming along as I get things going. Congrats on your weight loss and stay in touch!!

252/161/??
Hi Carrie,
I had my surgery last November as well and of today have lost 135 pounds. Started at 358 and now 223. I do hope I continue to lose. I fear from day to day it will stop. But I guess if I never lose another pound I am better off today than I was a year ago at this time. You say only 80 pounds you've lost, well that is allot of weight. Think of putting 80 pounds on your back and try carrying it around again? Pretty scarry huh !!! My weight loss slowed down too, and when I started to get my supplements regulated right I started losing again.I still can only eat about 6-8 ounces at a meal, and I still cannot tolerate greasy or sugary foods. Keep getting in that protein, and water, change up your excerise routine..you'll start losing again....Brenda Brock
I am so glad I stumbled on your question. Everyone's progress makes me feel ok about mine. Some have lost more, some less, but we have all lost and that is the most important thing. I started at 321 pre-op. I weighed in at 202 this morning. Down 119#'s since surgery. I have been at this weight for about 2 months, can't seem to get moving again. As long as it doesn't move up, I am happy. I know it will get started again when my body is ready. You have dodne great Carrie, we all have, pats on the back to us all. Hugs, Vicki
Hello,
I have not posted in a while, but I thought I would post on this topic. I had my surgery on 11-29-04 and my weight loss has slowed down tremendously the last two months. I started out at 345 and I currently weigh around 235 pounds. I have loss 110 pounds and I would like to lose another 90 pounds. I exercise six days a week and I try to watch what I eat. I do not think I get enough protein in but I am trying. I use to wear a size 26/28 and now I fit in a 16 so I am happy. Hopefully the weight will start to fall off again.
